First let me say that I bought the rifle NEW and UNFIRED from TITUS 7 and he was/is a ABSOLUTE pleasure to do ANY size transaction with. Thank You Nate!

Second, I have personally talked to Kyle at XLR Industries and he is GOOD TO GO and one hell of a standup guy. VERY FAST in shipping and answering ANY and ALL questions anyone has.

Well... after much looking.....debating.... and planning I finally pulled the trigger on my EXTREME long range rifle.

This is a Remington MLR .338LM in a XLR Industries Chasis that is fed by a AICS Mag.

The XLR Chasis is UNBELIEVABLY light weight and VERY well balanced. There are plenty of areas for rails and the folding Magpul PRS is just a plain sexy looking addition.

I am waiting on my scope to ship in and should only be another couple of weeks.

Here are some pics... let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks,
Matt (LEO SOUTH GA.)

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Congrats on the new stick.. I bet you can't wait to get to the range and shoot it.. I know I would be itching to go out and send some bullets down range, way down...

Let us know how it shoots...

What scope is going on that bad larry???

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

I went with the Sightron S3 6-24-50 LR/MD...

I did a BUNCH of reviews.. read up on it and it seems to be a great scope... I really needed something that has covered turrets...tactical...mildot...dependable...WITH ATLEAST 100 MOA of play....

I got a KILLER price... and could not refuse it..

Matt.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

I looked real close at this chassis system for my 5R, but came across an AICS 2.0 here. I E-mailed XLR and got a reply very promptly with my questions answered.
I do have a question on the folder, does the stock fold all the way back on itself and lock in?
Thanks, Scott

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Scott,

It does fold all the way over to the side of the stock, but it does NOT lock out or I have NOT pushed it that far over...

I mainly needed it for carrying in a Pelican... The folding over was for space savings.

I KNOW there is a way to make it lock out when folded over and I will be playing with that this week since I am waiting on the scope.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Will have a range report VERY soon.

IF ANYONE knows someone that has a MLR and is reloading I would LOVE to know what there recipe is....

I have all the components inbound... but just wanted to see if someone has already done the leg work on a load.

Thanks
Matt.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

have you had a chance to mount any scope on i? it looks like it has very awkword shape to it

i.e

the cheek rise being a what looks like a foot to the rear of the optic mount rail.

the rail looks to be at least an inch or two higher the stock so with optics mount, how high is the scope from the bore or natural line of the stock?

im just curious, ive never seen the stock,

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Great Matt!! Im glad that she was able to go to a good home.

As far as I know Cliff is still waiting on Gpal and all of that b.s., but Im sure it will all work out.

Guys Matt was a great buyer no problems or hassles whatsoever, real pleasure doing business with.

Range Report!!!!!!

Does Georgia have anywhere in the state that there isn't a tree every 500 yards?

Looks good. If I had somewhere to use one or lived in the Big Sky Country, I would have one.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Matt, I am glad you like your rifle. It looks great. Enjoy the ELR game and keep up your excitement!

1shot2kill: Our chassis use our own hand guards. AR style guards attach with a barrel nut that is to small to fit over almost all bolt gun barrels. All other measurements vary based on manufacturer. The clamp and hand guard do not contact the barrel or action. It is 100% free floated.

The folder should lock open and closed.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

mm128 what is the total weight as the rifle sits in the pictures you have listed i am very interested in placing my 700p 300 ultra into one of these stocks with a very similar setup to what you have

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

Here is a 700 LA I just completed for a customer. It is for a 300 ultra mag and is inleted with modified CIP mags. This is the HD version so it has the larger 2 inch hand guard, 16 inches in length. Stock with folder weighs 4 pounds, 12 ounces. Folder alone 7 ounces. You can take 2 ounces off going to the 14 inch hand guard and 6-8 ounces going to the standard evolution LA.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

I'm loving these stocks more and more but I won't be able to fund one for a long time unless I decide to get a AICS.

Re: New Toy .338LM - XLR Industries

mm128: Is it a regular AI mag or the new CIP AI mag ?
I also have a MLR in 33lm and looking for a chassis and spare mags. I thought the regular AI mags didn't fit though.
