Well...just got home from a 12 day trip

RI - > San Francisco - 5 days
SFO -> Shanghai/Suzhou China ->LA-> RI - 7 days

All I can say is you can keep SFO...it is a complete and utter shithole....fucking crowded and full of people that are in need of some serious reality checks imposed into their lives. City is a shamble. Homeless and dirty vagabonds (hobos) inhabit a lot of places. Drugs are rampant and I'm not talking about pot. Lots of begging for money. However, the rank and file seem to be uncaring about it. There is definitely a significant division of wealth. Dirt poor through super wealthy.....crying shame as there is a lot of history there.

Shanghai and China in general was very different with respect to its acceptance of Americans since the last time I was there which was about 8 years ago. Quite frankly, they think Trump will go to war. They are definitely afraid of him; even the business people that I went to see. I found it really difficult to keep the smirk from showing.

The greatest thing was flying into LAX from China and seeing Trump's face when it used to be Obummer....started laughing my ass off.

Glad to be back in my small town and home where many of the problems I heard about are absent.

We are definitely WINNING despite what MSM is portraying

It certainly is great.

I left my last position because I was traveling about 250K miles per year and I was doing it for almost 10 years. It wears on you....this is my first long trip in a year and I don't expect to make many. I envy the trip you're on now. Some day I will also do a similar one

Your SF picture doesn't lie but it is far worse in person. Squalor and smell strewn everywhere in front of multi-million $ condos or houses. Fucking crazy.

My oldest son who works for Rockwell just left Portland to come home. He got a transfer to Rockwell in MA. His reasons are pretty much in alignment with the picture you posted.

I was in San Diego a few weeks ago. It doesn't look like the filth has descended upon them YET. Hopefully the good folks in San Diego will nip that problem in the bud if it starts appearing there. (IMO, it is one of the few decent places left in CA.)

Thats a shame. I spent a few weeks there in the mid 2000's and it was a really nice town. Great seafood, and Thai.
