Have any of you had any experience with Noslers Custom Competition bullets? Do they seem uniform in construction and weight? I have just discovered them online. I want to load the 175gr. in .308. Currently I'm loading Sierra MK in 175gr. They perform well but are hard for me to find here in Canada.

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

I have been shooting the custom competition 168's for a while now they are extremely comparable to the Sierra match king my rifle actually shoots just a little bit tighter group with the nosler. I also shoot the 80 gr nosler in my 22-250 and it performs very good as well

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

I get fantastic groups with the Nosler CCs out of my Model 70 Heavy Varmint .308. I've only shot out to 400 yards, but they still hold little clusters at that distance, and shoot better than the Sierras from my rifle.

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

I use them all the time for reloading and it is on par with SMK's from all the measurements I have done. They also operate the same within my weapons so I find Nosler a great competition (forgive the pun) to Sierra.

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

I have switch to the CC's and are very compareable to the SMK MK's in my .223 and .308, but not as good as Lapua Scenars in my .260.. but then again they are half the price.

I love them. I shoot 168s. Like any bullet, measure from the ogive not the tip and you'll be fine.

I call OAL my ogive length..

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

Last week I substituted a few 175 CC in my SMK load, all else remaining the same, just to test at 100 yards. I found my POA to drop about 3/4 moa lower but the load still performed well. Need to crono and test at a greater distance yet... I have exchanged 69g CC and SMK with in 223's with no difference and with 77g CC tends to shoot better than smk's FWIW

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

ive used them in my 243 and they shot really well but droped them because the berger vlds shot a little bit better... the noslers imo shoot better than the smks...

Re: Nosler Custom Competition match bullets

Good evening. I understand that proper bullet sitting is one of the most important steps in reloading. May you please describe in a few words how to measure from ogive? I really want to learn how to do that. Thank you in advance.
