I need a little bit of a recommendation as to how to proceed. I’m at the Smith right now spinning up a barrel for this action that has been setting on a shelf. It just occurred to me that I never got the specific action wrench once ARC started to offer them.

It’s too late to try and get one now, since I need to finish this today. We could use the Remington style outside wrench, but that is not optimal and there’s no way to use it with a torque wrench.

Has anyone used anything else to solve this or am I pretty much stuck using the Remington wrench for now?

I used the NSS action wrench with their lug alignment tool on my cousins Nuc 1.1
Yes, that means the scope rail was removed to do so but guess what, it went on after everything was done and its straight just like its supposed to be.
Yes, that means I didnt use a torque wrench. But I know what 60-100 lbs of force feels like and what tight feels like. Its not coming off unless I put a wrench on it and its not going to be impossible when I put a wrench on it either. Its fine.

You might be able to use it.
A good approximation of force is the amount you’d use to hold a hooker down on the floor of your van, very similar to 100 ft lbs.

If your patient I could send you my nuke wrench.
You need to move from hookers to escort or even better Courtesan's they are in much better shape to fight back.

Lol!!

I appreciate your offer and if I had given it any forethought, I might have taken you up on your offer.

As it is, we'll make it work with what we have here.

Okay so, we made it work with the Remington style outside action wrench. It took a bit, since we had to mill in a notch to make room for the notched part of the action lug in the wrench.

We had to do this for two reasons: one is that the notch made the lug not fit in the wrench since a Remington lug does not have that. Two is that the lug notch sets pretty tightly into the removable rail on the action by design. Since the rail had to be off of the action in order to use the outside action clamp-style action wrench, we had to have a way to properly index the lug so that once the action was torqued to the barrel, everything lined up properly.

We made sure that the clearance slot that we milled into the action wrench clamp piece was set up to index properly while being torqued.

Fortunately, since we took our time to set it up right, it worked as planned and everything lined up well when done. If I had been smart, I would have taken a couple pictures to illustrate, but I’m not that smart.

Thanks to everyone for the input and thanks to @Steel head for offering the use of your action wrench.
