Hello All,
Now before the PVS fan club rips me, I'd like to point out that not everyone can afford a PVS unit and/or save up money to buy a set, because they're broke firearm addicts with mouths to feed.
I own and have been using thermal and NV optics of all sorts, price ranges and Gen versions for decades, so I know what this unit is.
This isn't a comparison, it's a basic review.
I like gadgets and was looking to build my own set of cheap digital goggles, but I scrapped that after I came across a pair of very cheap ($120 shipped) and lightly used Nyte Vu V60 goggles on E gads in a midnight stupor, so I bought them instead.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good they work and the features they have.
While testing them for the last two weeks straight, I played fetch with the pooch and rode around the neighborhood on a bike with them for hours every night till the battery died.
Usually three hours straight use with 3/4 IR power. The battery is 900 Mah, and that's pretty good life for that battery capacity.
No issues, except the loose headgear when tilted up and you need to unplug it from the battery when tilted, or else you'll be letting everything know your out there with two white beacons over your head.
If they last after some more testing , I'll need to adapt it to work with one of my other battery packs and probably get a new NV60 for a loaner unit.
I've read that Nyte Vu is also coming out with an upgraded version, with a better IR array and power consumption.
While not in the same galaxy as a PVS unit, they're more than what I was expecting for the price, a whole lot better than nothing and better quality than any of the gen 1 NV units I've used + tested over the years.
Some have Truck guns, I'd say these are Truck NVG's.

spec's. say it has a ( 22 deg. FOV ) that is pretty good .
It also has ntsc ( video out ) option . would be great to see some image of what your seeing .

.

I assume there is a built in illuminator you are using? Is there a way to mount a better illuminator? Or a way to mount the goggles to a "cheap" helmet that can add a better illuminator?
I have a couple of Bushy Equinox-Z monoculars (digital) and with a good illuminator or moon light, they can see and ID deer at 400yds ...
With an average illuminator (IR-20) that drops to 200yds.
But still more than useful, especially for the money. The 4.5x bushy has a video out but I use the 3x because it has more FOV.

Just got back from another night time ride around the neighborhood.
I'm really liking these things and just bought two more batteries.
The image clarity is the same as my Photon XT digital scope, Black/White and clear.
These have no magnification and six low power IR led's, so 80 yards is max for ID'ing anything in total darkness without a better IR source.
I can ID rabbits and deer across the lawn at 50 yards in total darkness no problem.
The IR leds are hardwired and I'm sure it could be mounted to a helmet with some ingenuity.
I bought these on a whim because of the price and have better goggles available, so I'm going to keep and use them as is.

Sound good for decent image on foot travel and with low output on keeping the bloom down when in and around foliage areas . It is fixed on output power of IR . Better low that to much power with the LED diodes on that thing . You can always carry some handheld IR for more power illumination .
