Recently, I was given a can of Dupont 4198. Still in the cellophane wrapper. This was what the M16 was supposed to use for powder in the M193 cartridges. It burns a lot cleaner than any ball powders.

The powder would be worthless in the can might as well shoot it.

The can in its condition is what has the greater value for a collectible.
 
Correct! And, I have a li'l 25-20 that needs a ton of attention. Just wish I was out in Nevada killing jackrabbits with it.:cool::cool:

Your the first person I’ve heard mention that caliber outside of family. My dad has a lever with an octagon barrel that’s damned old. Shot my first deer with it?
