Opinions wanted on Knights Armament Group Buy

I'm ready to pull the trigger on the group buy. I am torn between the Mod-1 and the LPR. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot either model. I currently have a S&W ar and shoot a PSA and a Daniel Defense that belongs to a shooting buddy. My stock ammo is split between 55gr FMJ and 62gr green tips. I'm leaning towards the LPR for the match barrel. Both models are 1 in 7 twist. It won't be a safe queen or an investment, I get'em to shoot and keep.

Why would you perfer the Mod-1 over the LPR or vise versa ? Thanks in advance.

Re: Opinions wanted on Knights Armament Group Buy

The 18" LPR uses a SS Krieger Barrel.

The Mod-1 is Chrome Moly.

Mod-1 would make a better SHTF gun. Not as accurate as the LPR. The LPR is great if you want to practice precision shooting.

It's really up to your shooting preference which route to take.

I personally just ordered the LPR.

Agree with Mirage. Depends on purpose/wants

Mod1= blaster with virtually unlimited barrel life probably best with a red dot or eotech.

LPR= precision, bench type gun or bipod supported with a scope.

That being said I have the Mod1 and ordered the LPR in the group buy.

Not to hijack the ops thread but I am wondering about the same thing about the Mod-1 over the LPR. My interests would include training classes, range shooting, and 3 gun matches for fun/practice.

Would either model fit this need or would one be better?

Thanks.

Unless you are a real precision junkie I'd get the mod-1. It's going to be more versatile and fun to use being lighter and smaller.

It's not like the mod-1s are bad shooters anyway.

I would go with the lined barrel for the application you are talking about.
