Really good movie and also about my family history. My direct ancestors killed John Comyn (who is introduced alongside Robert the Bruce) and Robert the Bruce gave the clan his lands, Badenoch. It's literally how I got my last name.

Like Braveheart, I doubt the clan will be mentioned. But hey, it's not everyday you get to watch family history on TV.

It's more historically correct, at least in the fact they aren't wearing kilts, and they mention the fact of Comyn and his claim, and that Wallace was in hiding after losing at Falkirk (conveniently left out of Braveheart IIRC). We didn't get the tartars (plaid) until after these wars.

This movie, in a way, picks up after Braveheart left off. That was a romance about one man. This is about the fight for Scotland that continued. They mention him as a martyr for the cause though.

"Touch not the Catt bot a glove!"

Watched it as well, and thought it was really well done. I too, enjoyed that it was more historically accurate (still Hollywood, but at least some of the major events were called out in the right sequence). I'll probably watch it again, just because there are always little details I miss.

I thought it was pretty good, it's too bad they rushed the history though but then they probably couldn't afford to make a 3 hour movie out of it. For example when his wife was locked up by the English they held her for something like 8-9 years. That's how long the Scots fought the English AFTER Wallace was killed.
