Hey guys, I tried searching and didn't find a answer specifically to this question.

I'm trying to paint a viper skin over with black, I used citristrip to remove the old camo paint, then cleaned it with t-shirt /sock, cleaned out some of the socket holes, and I'm getting ready to paint, I used an air can on it already to blow off dust, and then wondered if it was okay to paint over all the screw holes and grip area? I've never painted a stock so I wasn't sure if the paint would interfere with any of the sockets. Thanks for your time and I apologize for my noob questions.

Paint is all about the prep work! I would spray it with something like brake clean (dries very quickly) right before painting. Remember don't touch the surfaces you plan on painting after you spray it with the cleaner. I'm not first hand familiar with the skins so i cant comment on there details, but if your prep work is good your paint should be good to go. The nice thing about Krylon is if you mess up or don't like it, its easy to strip down and start over.

Thanks guys I painted over it I left a little tape over the grip area just in case because those holes were smaller, I wore gloves during the entire handling process to avoid getting oil on it, right now its drying in the garage, but I think it looks pretty darn good, I messed up a little when I oversprayed one area when i first got started, but it looks better after 6 layers. Its the first time I've painted something like this, and I'm excited to see the outcome!
