Painting With Krylon

Hi all,

Painting a Saiga 12 with Krylon DE Flat. Anyone used a clear coat to add durability? Valspar makes a Flat enamel that i thought about using. I know I should use a ceracoat or duracoat, but I don't want to. Anyone used a clear over the top? Recommendations?

Seems like I read a thread awhile back by someone who used a Krylon matte clear coat. Try searching here SH Google Search using "Krylon Paint Job" and you'll probably come across it.

The Saiga and McRee look great! The beauty of Krylon: if it wears off, just rattle the can and re-apply.

Be careful of the "matte" finishes. There is a difference in some paints between matte and flat--matte will often leave a shiny sheen where flat will not.

Test the clear coat before coating your entire rifle with it.
