I got a 48-hr ban from facebook a while back because I called the (fictional) white trash-as-fuck family in To Kill A Mockingbird "dirty-ass white trash". Apparently that counts as hate speech.
Most concerning part.
To me, this story however it plays out is not about what actually happened. To me the story is many believed that LE would go to such great lengths over a mag. And the thought the whole thing started with a red flag with no due process. This illustrates how people feel vulnerable and that this could happen to them over made up or insufficient/unverified accusation. It is a checks and balance issue.
Social media. This is nothing new and its going to get way, way worse. Social media / telco companies and LE learned by fire to take down user services/pages with a quickness. Funny part (not funny) is social media is being tipped by LE, bank on it. Days of getting to some fktards facebook while they are shooting up a place are gone. This way the narrative can be controlled and information spoon-fed to the masses. Social media is an extremely important component of the plan and is an integral part of establishing control. "OMG the Russians bought some adds". The leaders in govt seem to serious about the "Russian" ads and memes. Why? The issue is that social media was exposed and was like using your own tool against you. Cannot let that happen again...must stay the line within social media.
Radio talk was an interesting co-tangent. Comms in general are a curious topic for situations like what was initially thought to have taken place. Need to put some thought to this.

Actually it cost $15 to take the test and you can take all three tests at once for the three levels of licensing. I took two at once as I hadnt studied for the third. The study materials I got for free by downloading apps. So it worked out to $7.50 per license which really covers the cost of test materials, the examiners (three had to be present), the system to upload results, etc. I assure you no one got rich.
Its actually $70 for the GMRS license for 5 years to use walkie talkies that require no test.....HAM not so much for 1000x more capability.

I get that. Depends where you live I guess. 100% of the $25/year for my Texas hunting license goes to conservation through Texas Parks and Wildlife- they do a lot here. They only get $7 from my Dad since he is over 65 lol. Although my turkey stamps are an extra $7. Now car registration, property tax, etc dont get me started.

For folks wanting to start a movement to give power over everything back to the people, Facebook is not a bad platform to do that.
Get in on the local groups, and call out the entire city council, police department, board of education, or whomever. Present and discuss ideas, invite people out to meet up in person, and learn all kinds of shit.
Everywhere I have lived we have done that. It was called a Town council, City council, County borad meeting in some places, in others it was called a Grange meeting. Still happens in real America, at ours local LE attends as it has got sporty a few times over spending an local tax issues.

Typically, at least around here, you'll get maybe 3 or 4 people attending the meetings except when city employee pay raises are on the table, in which case you'll get like 40-60 cops, and 5 or 6 folks including police union president, and some civvies supporting the raises.
I just started telling people on facebook that they need to come out, and that shit is fucked up because people aren't involved. It's actually having an impact, but then there's scheduling issues in that council meetings usually start either after people leave for work, or right before they get off of work.
Besides, in the age of cell phones and netflix, a whole lot of people aren't ever out in public much anymore. Trolling them on FB is about the only way to engage them.
I imagine this was a wake up call for LE agencies and the government in general. I expect things to get much worse from here on out under the auspice of "domestic terrorism" and "political radicalism".
In any case, I wouldn't' expect things to go even this well a second time. If this had been a genuine red flag raid, which I'm not even saying it wasn't— but it's not clear cut as such, then shit would already be getting wild in red flag states. I heartily doubt we will see the fed gov stay out of this matter in the future. I don't know if ATF and FBI were there in this situation, but they very likely will be in the future when it comes to boot the unwashed once again.

What the politicians and law enforcement agencies need to take into account is how volatile the situations will become if they ever decide to start trying to enforce anti-constitutional laws on law-abiding citizens. Tensions are rising.

You know I've never been on twitter of instagram and the rest of those stupid platforms. But if someone came out with a "Fast Action 2A Response" group that you could join, broken down by states, I might just consider figuring out how to use the damn things. I'm talking a dedicated group for those types of reports, not some garage sale group crap.
I'm sure if an officer were to disavow unconstitutional enforcement that he could find a job again easily. Maybe he'd have to move, maybe he'd have to change professions, life changes like that anyhow though. If people like us knew about it we'd help him stay on his feet one way or another I am sure of it, I think a lot of folks would respect him for it. This topical division is bound to happen in every type of group, but when it's your goddamn dental plan and meal ticket there's a problem right there, in and of itself. I'd step back and either speak up or bail on that shit.
