More air rifles a coming out in calibers that make them useful in hunting. Can their trajectories make them applicable to training on the effects of weather conditions on shooting, and would it be more economical?

You might want to take a look at .30 cal variety. They have pellets and slugs in the 40+ gr weight range and I'm sure velocity can be tuned to mimic sub sonic 22 lr.
