Peltor Comtac III battery life

Anyone else notice how awful the battery life is in these things? I get 2 range trips out of brand new batteries and they usually fail 1/2 way through the 3rd trip. We’re not talking 12 hr range trips here where they’re on the whole time... 2-3hrs tops.

I heard something about a recall recently? Anyone have any info?

I can get thru a night (12 hours) without a battery change ... provided I change before going out !! (which is SOP)

Mine shit the bed, actually one ear did. Pulled it apart and couldn’t find anything wrong with them. They’ve always been problematic. Hopefully people don’t buy them. I actually used my own money on some sordins which I always use now.

No I’m talking about using them for a day at the range with brand new batteries then 1/2 way through my next range trip, they shut off due to insufficient battery.

Damn that’s crazy. I run the original comtacs with 2 double A’s and they last long time.
