I received my alternate set of springs to fix the "mushy click" feeling in my PH 5-25x56. The instructions first call to pry the lever up then lift the knob off of the scope, giving you access to the plate the single-springs are under.

I'm not the strongest guy in the world, but I have lifted weights for the last 35 years. I feel like I need to get a pry bar after the knob to simply lift it off (yes, the lever has been loosened).

Anyone have any suggestions?

PS - I've considered a steering wheel puller.

Re: PH Mushy Click Fix Question

Thanks.

Do some of these PH's come with more than 1 spring mechanism chamber? I found one chamber under the plate, and it had a single-spring mechanism under a double-spring mechanism. PR sent me two double-spring mechanisms with the instructions to replace single-spring mechanism with the double-spring mechanism. Were some scopes sent out that had two single-spring mechanisms, or did I miss a spot?

Re: PH Mushy Click Fix Question

One for windage, one for elevation. However my windage already had dual doubles, so you never know. There seems to be quite a bit of variance scope to scope with these Heritages.

You sure you're up for the part under the turret with the little screws and all? </div></div>
lol...yeah, I'm sure. I'm relatively certain I've successfully changed out the part.

I did miss one; I was so focused on not screwing up what I was doing it didn't occur to me I had another knob to do.

Re: PH Mushy Click Fix Question

Make sure to verify your zero, I was pretty sure I didn't twist anything when I did mine.
I was so sure I almost went to the Vegas match without confirming, but luckily I did. I was .4 mil right and a tenth or so off on elevation. Really glad I didn't blindly trust my mad scope skillz!

They feel nice now don't they?!

It made a world of difference. Both knobs now go "THUNK" when they hit the Mil marks. I'm going to be certain and check my zero. I'm sure I didn't get either knob back exactly where it came off. But, I got it close. I have access to a 1 mile range if I want to shoot that far. But, I believe I'll start at 100 and work up to 500 at the most; ya gotta learn to walk before ya can run doncha know.
