Phoenix Custom Rifles lead times and services

Keith,

My rifle finally arrived last night. It took FedEx three days to get it across Houston. Anyway, the photo you posted doesn't do it justice; everyone who saw it at the range this morning loved it. I shot factory ammo at 100 yards and got consistent groups >.3 MOA. That's about as good as I can aim, so the rifle is perfect. Once I get loads developed I'll be down to .25 MOA or better.

Thanks for the great work.

Finally got mine out to shoot. Take me out of the equation and it's a sub 1/4 MOA rifle. I just loaded some stuff up at different charges to look for where pressure starts and figured I might as well shoot groups with them.
260 Remington (throat extended .060 over saami)
140 amax loaded for a .015" jump(2.850 oal). This is about .391 with the flier, it's like .185 without. I'll take it..
Thanks again PCR!

just curious i notice there is a screw on the bolt#254 3rd pic. i thought the bolt is one piece? if there is a screw holding it, won't that put pressure on the screw?

Actually, what we do is cut an 1/8" through hole, pre drill the through hole ready to tap 8 X 40, countersink 3/16 to the bolt body, countersink 6mm for the screw head then tap the bolt body 8 X 40. To finish, we bore the screw head flush with the inside of the bolt body to be seamless.

Here are some more pictures. We're trying to come up with some build pic's for our website.

This is for a local guy for long range AZ hunting. Thanks for looking.

It is. I can't stop looking at it! I'm pulling a 12day stretch at work or I'd have shot it already. I got 20 rounds loaded up and a box of factory ammo to run through it for a quick break in, probably thursday. I just do a shoot one and clean for the first 5 rounds then a 2 and 3 round group with a cleaning in between each group and it should be gtg.

The great guys at PCR are working on two of my rifles right now and I can't wait to get my hands on them! Thanks a ton guys and looking forward to putting some lead down range. I will also be posting some pictures when the time comes with a range report. Expecting good things, and I know I will get some bad to the bone rifles. Just excited and anxious to get my hands on them.

Got my second pcr build this week. It turned out awesome. Rem 700sa with a ptg one piece bolt straight handle, brux 24" sendero contour in 6.5 creed with a badger mini fte brake (recoil is like my 223), manners t2 w/ mini chassis, nightforce base and vortex razor 5-20, cerakote coyote tan. Color combo worked out very nice. Took it out for first time this saturday mid-day in az and the mirage was really bad and three different charges all shot in .3" 4shot groups. Will post range photos this week now that i have seating depth set and some fireformed brass. Excellent work again. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to give PCR a shout out for an amazing rifle. Last October I talked with Keith at PCR about a 6.5 creed project I wanted them to build. I have never worked with PCR before but based on some review I decide to bring my next build to PCR all the way from So Cal. Keith was great on the phone and always got back to me very quickly and kept me in the loop with everything. I even got some picture of things along the way to see how the project was coming along, service was truly above and beyond! Okay well here are a couple pictures of the rifle and I will give the specs below.

9esu9eny.jpg

Specs are as follows:
Defiance Deviant action
Bartlien barrel m24 contour fluted by bartlien chambered in a 6.5 creedmoor
APA little bastard muzzle brake
Manners T4A stock in midnight camo
Badger bottom metal
Timney trigger
American Rifle Company rings (very cool by the way!)
Bushnell elite xrs 4.5-30 FFP H59 reticle
*Also I should post a better picture but the machine work on the rifle is simply amazing. You can not see where the barrel and brake meet, and the timing of the flutes and brake to the receiver is flawless...

How does it shoot you ask?
yhegyhaq.jpg

5 shoots at 100 yards!

ady3etep.jpg

Three shoots at 200 yards!

asy9umab.jpg

Here is another group, 5 shoots at 200 yards, I pulled the second and fifth shoot, into the same hole but I pulled them right just a hair at 200 yards.

Once again, a huge thank you to Keith at PCR! Love the rifle, these guys do amazing work! Keith was just great about staying in touch and keeping me informed all the way through the build. I would highly recommend them for a build. I know that my next build will be going to PCR.

Phoenix Custom Rifles 300 RUM

I had PCR build me a 300 RUM and to say that they did a great job would be an understatement. I was on a tight budget for this rifle and they offered great advice from the different types of stocks, action, barrels, triggers, bottom metal, bolts, firing pin assemblies, muzzle brakes, ect., to the caliber that I wanted. I have followed their work for a couple years and this thread has been very informative and really helped me learn what I liked and what I didn't like. Below are a few pics of how well this rifle shoots and a link to a video just in case you don't believe the pictures!
