Got my hands on a couple of the Pierce Engineering Tac Repeater multi-flat actions. These are slab side actions, hence multi-flat. From what I understand, they are available in left or right hand, LA/SA, standard and magnum bolt face.

These are one hell of a tough action, and are as smooth as glass.

Sako style extractor
Integral Lug
Integral base (flat or 20 min. built in)
Pierce Bolt w/ improved lock time pin/spring
Rem700 barrel thread
Rem700 Trigger
Rem700 inlet, inletting and bedding required, of course.
90 degree bolt throw
Easily allows for switch barrel applications

Hope to get my hands on a sample rifle to start carting around to some of the matches to show around.

Pirece makes some of the finest single shot benchrest actions, as well as the tube guns from Creedmore Sports. A 60 deg throw action maybe in the works shortly.

To the best of my knowledge, these are the first off the CNC machine. I will double check, but I really dont know. I am sure there is something in the works to get a couple of these out to very respected shooters for reviews and comments, but to the best of my knowledge, these are the first actions from the comleted CNC programming.

This is a "sneak peak" really. You guys are the first ones to see them outside of John's cirle.

Welded, it may also be bolted and filled, when I set up my build that was an option, to be welded as well as bolted and filled. Not sure, I can find out for sure.

Requires inletting. Remington stocks will work, once properly inleted. AICS or the like will need to be inletted/milled as if your using any other custom action with a different foot print, i.e. Surgeon, Badger, etc.

if there is enough interest, I can pose the question. If there was interest, I would prefer to keep the first one kind of small to make sure everything goes smoothly. Pricing would be up to John, since there are no middlemen. I will bring it up, and see what he says.

You can build one of Johns actions into a whole rifle for less than 3000 and thats using a 2.0 AICS. Any custom less than 3K these days is a really good in my opinion.

I had this one built this spring, 6.5x47L on one of his standard actions. Completed barreled action, out the door, ready to drop in a stock and was pennies over $1900. The action is slick as snot and its surgical with H4350 and 142SMKs.

To those whom mentioned the possibility of a group buy, and better pricing, I have put a post in the group buy section.

Pricing is real good, if we can get 20 actions together.

As Rich stated, a couple of the mods included standard remington footprint so no milling or additional inletting is required, at least for AICS style stocks.

Here are the specs of the actions per Jim from Pierce.

Thinking about it: a 60 degree throw and I would be down like a clown Charlie Brown.

Other than the fact that the recoil lug is integral to the action (like say a Win M70), just how does this action allow for easy switch barrel applications? You still need a barrel vise and action wrench. My CZ 700 only needs and allen wrench. That is a much easier switch barrel action!

The barrel came off when you unscrewed the swivel at the base of the action in front of the trigger guard. It allowed for even easier switch barrel applications than your CZ.

You are correct, though this is not a experimental design, it has been done before.

Ruger 10/22 only requires an allen wrench. Switch barrel rifles requires an action wrench and a barrel vice....so what. What is hard about it?




Single Shot actions available, for $50 less.

Large actions easily accomodate the .338 Lapua cartridge.

We are and he was discussing the action.
1.You are the one that typed this action easily allows for switch barrel capabilities.
2.He then asked what made it different then any other high quality custom bolt action.
3.You replied with action wrench and barrel vise...so what.
Which is not "easy" but rather the "norm".
