With the scarcity of .22 ammo, I have been forced to scrounge for whatever is available. I have contacted a hole-in-the-wall dealer who has 3 bricks of Winchester Wildcat. My main concern is what problems I may face due to this ammo being a lead cast bullet. I would greatly appreciate some knowledge pertaining to this genre of bullet. Better yet would be any information regarding past experience with this specific load. I will be shooting this out of a Marlin Papoose for hunting and occasional target purposes.

Re: Plated vs. Cast

my magnum research 22lr shoots the remingtons better. but had a couple bad expiernces with rem had a bullet get stuck in the barrel and didn't know it and put another in behind it! rem 597 rifle was replaced by them. Then this fall was going to sight my magnum research in for rem thunderbolts and after a clip couldnt keep them in a 3ft square of cardboard at 50 yrds went to clean and look over the rifle and found it was severely leaded a inch or so past the chamber had to force the cleaning rod just to get it down the barrel. wore out a brush getting the most of lead out. called them they had me send in all the ammo and found that their lubing machine wasn't working and there was no lube on the bullets and that is what caused the problem.
