Unfortunately I think she is right. People trapped in the welfare system for generations aren't educated, don't have any skills, and don't have the work ethic (ethics in general) to survive on their own even in the freest and most prosperous nation on the planet, and that has been entirely by design starting with "The Great Society". Forcing them to become productive citizens cold turkey by taking away all their free stuff is only going to work for the ones who can adapt. Many or even most won't. We've been feeding a tiger so it doesn't eat us.

Most democrats in big liberal cities will tell you in private that all the welfare programs are to buy off poor black people so they don't try to take their stuff and rob/hurt them. The idea is to just give enough so they never get desperate. Desperation will only make some of them work. The rest will take the easiest way out of stealing.

Not saying I have a great idea to "fix" this, but the reality may not be like you think it do.

If you think you are a "conservative", or are somehow opposed to communism/socialism/progressivism, and you look around and see that you are vehemently on the same side of an issue as they are, you might want to reexamine your preconceptions and biases to see why this is.

The left is all in with the Islamosatanists because of communist critical theory. The weaker party is always the oppressed and always right no matter what the facts are or how they behave. When you find yourself on their side it is a pretty good indicator that you are not thinking it through and are inventing a bunch of false "facts", and theories that don't add up to arrive at the same place they did.

Not sure this is entirely accurate.
Not everything can be cure or reversed.
And a lot of people’s issues are self caused by their own choices.

You are not considering the leading cause of death by orders of magnitude is medical malpractice. Think beyond just failing to find cures, they literally kill more people than anything else.
