The recruiter failed to mention most peons go mess cooking on a Aircraft Carrier !
You had to leave your department or squadron and be banished to the mess cooking berthing compartment. 95% were scrodes , food sticking to their clothes , loud and sweaty. Was assigned a bottom rack about 3 inches off the deck. 0 ventilation or moving air. Threw a sheet over me and attempted to sleep …felt something I thought was sweat ?? ….turned the little light on and saw I was covered with moving cockroaches. Bolted out of the rack , never went back. I literally had to shower and sleep wherever I could, except there for the rest of mess cooking sentence.
How are those new knife laws working out for them?

We did not hit 100 ambient in my AO the entire summer. This breaks the trend over the past several years where we had a string of days over 100 every year. IMO, summer is going to end rather quickly this year. Now, bring on the snow!

This requires context. India, who is officially Hindu first via the BJP and its surrogates, has been placing Bangladeshi muslims in concentration camps, deporting them and taking property if they cannot provide proof of citizenship before 1971 or thereabouts. There is some real anger on the Bangladeshi side that is deep-rooted. Not saying there aren't tangible, real reasons given the Red Corridor and all that brings, but this was almost a given when the Bangladesh government fell. And before you say they should have had papers, India ain't like that. At all. Lots of people are born without papers in the rural areas.
Not saying what they are doing is right (it isn't), but it does need a backstory. I will not be surprised to see this escalate things at the local level within India, particularly in Assam and West Bengal.
