Well now, isn't that interesting???
china has been investing heavily in smaller countries, which is probably why the UN is basically anti-america these days.
just a matter of time that in the absence of any meaningful deterrence, they would buy control of the middle east.
wouldn't surprise me to see chinese mining rare earth minerals in afghanistan after we leave.

pedo joe is hopeless.

his argument is that some of the richest corporations pay zero tax,
so what difference does the percentage make to somebody that pays nothing?

I think it bears repeating for this administration: Corporations do not **bear the brunt** of corporate taxes. They easily, poetically, and quickly bake it into their cost structure and pass it on to their customers.

Ask me how I know.

Anyone else not just pissed off that we are becoming a socialist country...but that we have paid the taxes a socialist citizen does without the benefits of socialism for 75 years?

When you analyze the tax rate, persons in the middle class pay more than 50% of their income in taxes.

How? State Income Tax, Property Tax, Federal Income Tax, Tarriffs, Sales tax, death tax, life tax, medicare tax, social security, blah blah blah.

NOW realize that every person who sold you a good or service had to incorporate all of THAT shit into the cost of their goods...and their suppliers, and and and and and.

There are MANY fully socialist countries with similar tax rates. And they GOT free fucking health care and education.

So, within 9 weeks, China has just completely sided with Iran. How long before they have the actual bomb? 1-week? Three months? For sure inside 6.

Hehhe. I look forward to Iran with the bomb. I do. It’s going to change the world for the worse, and at this point it couldn’t have happened to nicer folks.

No surprise the plans for an implosion bomb that are floating around out there require translation from Mandarin.

I had stated earlier, in this thread, that the social media giants should be treated like public utility companies and that they are the new monopolies.

Even though the article below comes from the bowels of a Marxist news outlet, it is very illustrative of what one member of the SCOTUS is thinking with regards to reining in the protections of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act that the Fuckerbergs and Doucheybags hide behind.

Justice Thomas could not have said it better:

"It changes nothing that these platforms are not the sole means for distributing speech or information. A person always could choose to avoid the toll bridge or train and instead swim the Charles River or hike the Oregon Trail," Thomas wrote. "But in assessing whether a company exercises substantial market power, what matters is whether the alternatives are comparable. For many of today's digital platforms, nothing is."

The one thing that I fear is that Justice Thomas and possibly Alito are the minority viewpoint on the Court. Just like they have treated the 2nd Amendment as a back-seat right, I have a feeling that the blocking and censoring of conservative voices on social media will continue.

If it weren't for the broader ramifications, it sure would be hilarious to observe the Saudis experience their own very special oh-shit moment. Of course, SA ain't dumb, and they've been playing the US vs China to get their hands on nuke technology. My guess is that someone in the House of Saud has a Gantt chart that starts with a successful Iranian test and ends with a Saudi test 6-12 months later. What happens after that point is probably best described as "biblical".

Remember all the protests from the "peace-nicks" in the past when they were upset that the US had nuclear weapons and wouldn't give them up? Remember when the US was the source of all evil because we dared to wipe out two cities in a country at war with us in 1945?

Has anyone ever noticed that none of these "peace-niks" ever bothered to hold their protest marches against the other countries that also had nukes? Remember how free speech was embraced in the former Soviet Union? Me neither.

I wonder what the new as well as the old "peace-niks" will have to say when the "religion of peace" have nukes AND use them. I wonder if we will see them hold protest marches in the countries that have peaceful people running the government.

The biggest concern that I have every time someone mentions Section 230 as a boogyman is that an excessively broad knife cut would take down sites such as this which are most certainly not monopolies or common carriers. Your local newspaper's website, gun forum, etc. needs to retain the ability to filter content, or else the assholes of the world win. But that's a detail that could be worked out in legislation or the implementation of regulation.

The rest of Thomas's assessment of the situation seems spot-on, and when an "original constructionalist" (perhaps the most powerful and prominent one currently alive) starts to make noises about the need to regulate companies which abusing their monopoly power, perhaps it's time to listen.

You are correct to an extant. It's a delicate balancing act to protect the rights of free speech and also respect the rights of a company to run their own business.

However, the social media giants are the "toll bridges" and the "turnpikes" that people have to travel on or find other alternatives, which really aren't there.

Flashback to 2019 when Ted Cruz questioned Dr. Robert Epstein about Google's influencing elections. Dr. Epstein is also a registered Democrat. A newspaper has always been free to print an opinion page to in their circulation. That's a first amendment right that has never been in doubt. They are called "opinion pages" for a reason.

However, when it comes to manipulating data and tweaking the search engines to favor one party/candidate over another and to simply publish false information (as fact) then there is a major problem.

My father always told me that "the truth hurts." That was especially true when accompanied by a paddle to the back-side. Because "the truth hurts" is one reason that it needs first amendment protections. "The truth hurts" the people that it is directed against and they will always try to hide it. Censorship is another form of hiding the truth.

Please keep in mind that I am talking about truth versus opinion. Too many of the big-tech tyrants are favoring suppositions over facts. That has to stop.

Black Trump supporting Conservative Woman goes on Dr. Phil to dicuss repairing her relationship with mentally ill (tranny-wanna-be-son) --not knowing it was a set up.

Lays it out on the Paramount shuttle bus back to her car. Start playing from the link for the good part

"Dr. Phil didn't offer any solution". Did she really expect he would?

I completely agree, and setting aside the political nature of Big Tech censorship, there are societal effects from the use and abuse of tech that rivals other public health problems such as substance abuse. So, yeah, it's way past time to address the problems instead of allowing autistic sociopaths like Zuckerberg to bury these problems under layers of pseudo-libertarian bullshit.

I know a retired big tech guy. I designed and built him an award winning pool which he lied and took credit for.
His son, who lives in Calif., is a PhD who works for Google is a younger version of himself, nerdy.
He told me when I was building his pool when his son and bitch MIT Grad wife from NY come to visit to not pay any attention to what they have to say. I blew it off as I had no clue what he was talking about.

When the son got here and was walking around the pool site I asked him what he thought, as it was a beautiful falling water natural pool full of detail. He proceeded to run his mouth on how long the project was taking along with other crap. He was full of venom toward me. I've only met the fucker twice before. When the pool was finished and I won a national award, he and his hairy faced wife refused to swim in it.
This was in 2011. Those people hated me and you long before we were on to them.

I keep telling people. It's not that they don't care about you. It's that they've been taught to hate and despise you. They've been taught you are an ignorant, racist, inbred hillbilly, and they want to hurt you to make themselves feel like the righteous/woke people they want to be. If they are not hurting you, they have nothing to point to to prove their righteousness. Their total disregard for freedom and liberty isn't even a moral conflict for them. They've been taught that everyone is either a master or a slave, just as they've been schooled in Materialism. There is no hope of reasoning with them or compromising with them. Theirs is a dead end ideology that has to be fought.

The big tech guy has made this clear. One time he was showing me his liquor stock, pointing out the best bourbon and whiskeys for the buck like Jamesons. He said he wasn't going to break out the expensive stuff but was introducing stuff he kept on hand 'for people like you.'

I did heavy equipment work on his ranch property and he lets me hike, hunt and shoot all the hogs I want and even said he was worried about me with Covid so I can't talk too much shit but he has dropped the 'people like you' term more than once.

You need to tell him how your safe is full of guns, you have lots of ammo, tons of food, just in case you have to deal with people like him! (y)

There was a movie a few years back called The Help, set in 1960s Jim Crow Mississippi. Bitchy racist well-to-do gal strongarms the governor to put through a bill saying the black maids/housekeepers have to have their own separate bathroom in their white employers' homes for "sanitary" reasons. You get to see what one of the bathrooms is like: Constructed in the garage, no ventilation, bare light bulb, basic sink and toilet. But "Ain't it nice havin' your own?" the rich-bitch crows.

And naturally the rich-bitch promoted Starving Kids In Africa Funds while being an utter bitch to her "colored" maid (and everyone else's maids). That sorta hypocrisy's nothing new, they just shifted target a little over time.

They can also have a collision with a small object travelling at very high speed.

When I went by his house when Covid first hit, we sat outside ten feet away because he was afraid of someone giving it to him. He said I'm not allowing people around me...'and that includes you.' I told him 'Don't worry, the feelings mutual.'

I asked him if he needed anything from the store and he said no, he'd been getting warnings from his tech people in China and had been prepping for months, including boxes of face masks.

This was long before anyone ever heard of Covid here in the U.S.
I hunt and shoot with his youngest son who is 30 and owns ARs.

I love all the shit you've talked about canadian people as a whole, and then go and admit you allowed someone to not once, but twice, refer to you as "people like you", and justify it since he felt a little worried about you and lets you use his land. No fucking wonder those people act like that, "people like you" are too yellow to stick up for themselves, while they talk with their friends about how they disprespect the help and they just take it.

Does he hate on Canadians? My man. We can talk about those fuckers when we go hunting so we don't have to talk about the election.

Yeah, and fuck you too.

In the 1790's, shortly after the revolution, they tested a weapon called the Chambers Flintlock. With one pull of the trigger, this weapon fired about 224 rounds at a rate of fire of 120 rounds per minute. It fits the ATF definition of a machine gun.
Chambers wrote of his machine gun to George Washington. It was tested at Alexander Hamilton's place. He also contacted Thomas Jefferson to help him sell these to the French. Neither of these go anywhere.
Then in the War of 1812 he converted his design to a ship mounted machine gun. The US Navy bought some of these.

The argument that the "founders never intended..." is completely invalid. Right after they wrote the 2nd Amendment there was a machine gun on the market. This machine gun design was shortly updated to a version that has the same ammunition capacity as a modern M240. These were for sale to anyone on the civilian market.

It is our constitutional right to own machine guns. The guys who wrote our founding documents used these things and knew they existed.
I’ll raise your Chambers flintlock to a ~1719 Puckle Gun:
