Nice, just put a down payment on an FN to have a lighter weight companion to my AIAT. The Havok’s are good looking, well balanced rifles.

Those rifles look badass man. Nice work

That's the one regret I have with my B-14 HMR. I was going to replace the trigger on my B-14 HMR with a TT Diamond just as I did with one of my Premier Bergaras that came with a Trigger Tech trigger, then (since I'm a rifle nerd) I actually read the manual and it explained that the possible adjustment range for the B-14 HMR is between 2.8 and 4.4 pounds plus the little blurb about voiding the warranty. I thought well maybe that's just for the Bergara trigger, then on the Timney web site I noticed a warning on their Remington 700 triggers not to use them in Bergaras it said: 'The Bergara rifles use a heavier firing pin spring that limits pull weight adjustability.' So I stuck with the original trigger in the B-14 HMR because the Diamond ranges from 4 oz. to 16 oz. short of the B-14s minimum adjustment. The original trigger is by no means a bad trigger, not a Trigger Tech, or even a TT Diamond but a good reliable trigger. The Trigger Tech Diamonds come adjusted mid-range so if you backed it off you should definitely be below 1 pound, I'd still get a trigger scale just to know for sure but that's just curious me. Nice rig!

Yea I read all of that same stuff. I've been looking to sell my bergara HMR so I can upgrade to a TL3/Hawk hill setup in 6.5cm. So I went ahead and got the diamond despite the potential for issues. However I did cycle the bolt/ safety and dry fire it 50 times or so trying to get a malfunction and couldn't get one. worked flawlessly. So I suppose it'll just be extreme caution to not load a round in the chamber unless pointed in a safe direction. Safety rule I follow anyhow but just a note to self.

im looking for reccomendations on paint jobs that will show off the carbon fiber, but give it some color besides all black.

  • Proof Barrel - .270 Win, 22" long 1:10 twist and Vias Brake
  • Remington Action - Trued
  • Boltwork done by Kampfeld Customs
  • Trigger - Timney 517 @ 3#
  • Stock - Manners EH1 Clear Finish w/ PTG Bottom BDL metal
  • Total weight 7lbs 7 3/4oz

Shouldn't be an issue for the HMR Pro since they come with a standard TriggerTech trigger these days, the issue is with the B-14s with the basic Bergara action but even that one with its original trigger is fairly crisp and has only minimal overtravel. Haven't had an issue on my Premier Bergara that came with the original TriggerTech frictionless trigger that i replaced with the Diamond and I wouldn't trade that rifle in for all the rice in China.

Following this post because I ordered my Manners stock the same way and now I'm wanting a little bit of color. I'm actually considering sending it back to Manners for their midnight camo job.

I did these last week, (we don't do visual carbon) a little bit of red blobbed in-between looked very good. (better than in this pic)

I like the McMillan Coyote Ambush pattern, but then again it blends in nicely anywhere here in the Western U.S. .
