And I can tell all of you after shooting both today (600yds at a 4" steel circle) They are both tac-drivers.

The TRG folding stock is bad ass for its easy adjustability and the trigger is arguably the best factory trigger made. I still like and shoot the AW better, even thou I didn't relise Jose had taken a 1.5 of LOP spacers out since last time I shot it. Both swung the steel just fine with not effort on my part.

Re: precision rifles... show em

I always say a precision rifle is useless if it's not accurate.

But hey.

Is this a BAT VR action?

If yes, how does it performe in the field? I have one rifle with this action (an F-Class rifle) but I am afraid to build a tactical/sniper rifle with this action as it seems the tolerances are on the tight side, may be not suitable for field use.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Yes it is a BAT VRPIC. I have owned 7 BAT actions now and had yet to experience any problems related to the tolerances being too tight. On the other hand I try my best to keep debris and sand out of the port. during the occasions "some" sand has found its way onto my bolt the action has functioned fine.

Gun: Remington 700 SPS Tactical
Caliber: .223
Scope: Vintage 1950's Weaver V8 scope
Bi-Pod: old Harris dad had lying around that he tried to modify but ruined.

The gun is a work in progress the scope is going to get changed ASAP but for being a poor highschooler buying his own toys it works. May not be the fanciest or the "coolest" but it will get the job done and kill many a coyotes and paper targets untill i can afford to upgrade or buy a new one

Looks like you got yourself a good start. For only 17 your ahead of the game. I'm only 22 so I'm the youngster most of the time at the range. Take all the advice you can get and get a ton of info from all the guys here on the Hide and you'll be good!

My new baby. Actually She's not done. The barrel blank is just sitting in front of the action still at 27"

Hopefully in the next month or so she will be 7-08 finished at 24" with a Badger FTE. Barrel is a Rock 284 8.7 twist M24 contour. I'm having it fluted also and I'm not sure what color I'm going to have it coated but that for later anyway.

Keith, Any specs on this gun?? How's that 300WM feel without a brake?

Re: precision rifles... show em

Yeah it's trued rem 700 on a Mcree stock. It's got a 28" barrel with a 1/10 twist. The scope is a US optics.

The Barrel is very heavy so that helps to mitigate some recoil. no brake necessary.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Haha yeah,
I took that picture right when I was on the way to a gun show and they make you ziptie the bolt back.

It's also highly tactical......
