In response to what may turn out to be a favorable ruling by the Supreme Court and concealed carry permits in NY, the lowest forms of humanity the state has to offer are already preparing their counter-attack.

New York Democrats sponsor bill to ban carry on public transport, gatherings >14 people, in restaurants

Amd 265.01-b, Pen L

Prohibits firearms in certain locations, including but not limited to all forms of public transportation, large gatherings, and food and drink establishments.
1 Section 1. Section 265.01-b of the penal law, as added by chapter 1 of
2 the laws of 2013, is amended to read as follows:
3 § 265.01-b Criminal possession of a firearm.
4 A person is guilty of criminal possession of a firearm when he or she:
5 (1) possesses any firearm [or]; (2) lawfully possesses a firearm prior
6 to the effective date of [the] chapter one of the laws of two thousand
7 thirteen [which added this section] subject to the registration require-
8 ments of subdivision sixteen-a of section 400.00 of this chapter and
9 knowingly fails to register such firearm pursuant to such subdivision;
10 or (3) knowingly has in his or her possession a rifle, shotgun, or
11 firearm in or upon the following locations:
12 (a) Any form of public transportation, including but not limited to
13 railroads, ride sharing services, paratransit services, subways, buses,
14 air travel, taxis or any other public transportation service;
15 (b) Food and drink establishments; or
16 (c) Large gatherings, which for the purposes of this section shall
17 mean a gathering together of fifteen or more persons for amusement,
18 athletic, civic, dining, educational, entertainment, patriotic, poli-
19 tical, recreational, religious, social, or similar purposes.
20 Criminal possession of a firearm is a class E felony.
21 § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
22 have become a law.

So, no carry on public transport, restaurants, gatherings of 14+ people... BUT, what if all of the carriers maintain a 25+ yard social distance from each other and wear double body armor? Is that GTG?

Lee Zeldin is making a strong push for Republican Governor of NY. If his office doesn't know about this yet, they will today.

Every handgun permit holder in the state needs to acknowledge this.

I would love to see law enforcement come forward and say this has zero chance of being enforced if it passes unless an actual crime is committed.

It’s almost impossible to get a carry up here anyway.

Now we know they are trying to eliminate firearms in general so it’s just a manipulation of words on their part

but getting a full time conceal carry in NY state or trying to get one in NYC ….you have a better chance of winning lotto.

Every person I know that has a permit is unrestricted and plenty are still obtaining them, depending on the county of issue. And most everyone that still has a permit issued before the 90's is unrestricted.

The so called hunting/target/restricted permit is exactly what they are trying to do to everyone that does have an unrestricted permit, bypassing the authority of the counties from using their own discretion.

Can't speak for NYC because they have their own set of rules down there.

So you cant have a gun if there are 15 or more people at a gathering......
What about going to the gun club? Might be more than 15 people there.

So glad I moved to Texas.

wouldn't it be just great if the pol's would recognize that it's the actual violent criminals that are committing the violent crimes, and just put and keep them in jail... and leave the vast, vast numbers of law-abiding citizens alone.

They would actually have to have a brain/common sense and focus on the actual problem, but if they put criminals away and keep them there who will vote for them?

Can't believe you guys haven't figured out how to work the system. Do what the criminals have done since day one , carry a throw away and if caught you simply say that's not mine. If there's a body by your feet you state you didn't pull the trigger, the gun simply went off and your not responsible.

Criminals haven't been working the system, they have been getting wink nudge deals, to get them back out causing trouble.

down here on long island and expanded into NYC area
suffolk
nassau
queens
brooklyn
staten island
westchester

its hunting /target only and in the city you need to belong to a legal hunting club with storage/ not have it in your apartment etc

to get a carry you have to know a LE in the mix and put his dick out

30 years ago it was possible saying you had a cash business etc

now theyll ask for the bank receipts and ask why you need a pistol on a monday when you have gone to the bank on thursday for the last 5 years

and then they look at the amount you depositing/carrying

i know it used to be 10k or more to even get looked at..i tried

I knew it was terrible down that way but that's downright commie shit. Don't know how you do it. Upstate is drastically different, it's too bad we are all ruled by NYC and the sheer numbers dictate most of the garbage upstate has to deal with.

Further evidence that governance by the lowest common denominator is a poor way to maintain individual liberties. The idea that this is motivated by good intentions is lacking evidenciary support. This is purposeful. The SC strikes down one ban, then reword it and enforce the new one. It's planned. Make them strike down each new ban in succession, eventually the poor bastards that want to be free will give up because the costs are too high to keep up the fight.

These commies will never admit their fault. They'll smile, and say prove it. Over and over, it's the process by which they erode the liberty of the individual. This is why political compromise is finally being recognized for what it is - a one way voluntarty ratchet toward serfdom.

Be aware there are a lot of states already that have bans on ccw on public transit and public gatherings/churches/parks/ rest areas…..
