Just curious if anyone on here has run into this. I am running a CDI BM in my brand new match 260 built on a Rem 700. Had some alpha mags on hand (Type 1) and they were functioning fine in my 308 Savage CDI BM, but don't seem to feed well in the Rem.

The rounds end up pointing down, and thus don't strip off right and go up the feed ramp. The COAL is just under recommended COAL. Jeff at CDI said this is an issue with the Alpha's at times, that they need just a bit of tweaking right at the feed area. Anybody else experienced this? Don't want to tweak it too much out, as they are an extremely tight fit already.

Am going to try an AI mag tomorrow to see if this solves it.

    Thanks.

My Alpha Type 1 mag would not strip the top round or the second round in my CDI bottom metal. I measured the distance between the feed lips on an AI mag and bent the Alpha mag's lips to match. It works fine now.

Any chance you could post the AI feed lip measurements for those of us who only have Alphas? Thanks in advance.

Well, the new AI mag fed perfectly today. Will get measurements next week and try to mod the alphas by opening the feed lips a bit so the round will sit just a bit higher. Will post results for any interested.

Sure, I'm getting .400-.404" (eyeballing it with calipers) measured from the inside edge of the feed lips at the top of the lip. I did this about 7 or 8 months ago so I don't remember what the measurement on the Alpha mag was, it was slightly narrower but not much. I did NOT have to do much tweaking so go easy.
