Pseudo-event

Pseudo-event, an event produced by a communicator with the sole purpose of generating media attention and publicity. These events lack real news value but still become the subject of media coverage. In short, pseudo-events are a public relations tactic.
The term pseudo-event was coined by American scholar Daniel J. Boorstin in The Image: A Guide to Pseudo-Events in America (1961), his book about the effects of media publicity and advertising on political and social practices in the United States in the 1950s. Boorstin defined a pseudo-event as an ambiguous truth that appeals to people’s desire to be informed. He argued that being in the media spotlight was a strong incentive for public figures to stage artificial events, which became real and important once validated by media coverage. Boorstin described pseudo-events as the opposite of propaganda, although both forms of communication have similar consequences and result in public misinformation. Whereas propaganda slants facts to keep the public from learning the truth, pseudo-events provide the public with artificial facts that people perceive as real.
Pseudo-events are carefully choreographed, following a prepared script and leaving nothing to chance. In order to maximize the event’s exposure, they are scheduled in advance, and journalists are informed of the specific time when the event will occur. Pseudo-events are designed to be dramatic, to make them interesting for the public, and they tend to generate iconic images, such as big enthusiastic crowds. Pseudo-events can include press conferences, advertisements, speeches, and other similar events covering issues with little value in terms of content and importance.

MSM. Period.

Like The Squad bleating about Trump Tweet racism today.

Fully covered.

It's The Squad's spin when they're being covered as being out of touch with the rest of Congress.

MSM is is eating it up.

That was then.

WE ARE THE NEWS NOW!

Only the blind doesn't see it.

You guys calling them idiots , just think how unaware you were just around 2001. They are mostly ignorant, busy with life shit, yeah some idiots but we are in a counterinsurgency war right now, gotta bring as many over to your side now. Best way to do that is using facts and history, you can get through to most but mostly the uneducated, the educated are too smart to see the truth.

A few things:

- Did anyone else realize that Trump didn't single anyone out but just said something about certain people in congress that hate the US and are pro terrorism or some shit? And then the next day, the 4 idiots showed up to argue? It was like a dog whistle to get them to show themselves lol

- I'm actually glad libs/crazy people in the US are overtly saying what they feel now. No more 'I believe in the 2nd Amendment, but.....' bullshit, its full out 'we want to take your guns and kill you' now. They will soon double down on socialism and 'rich white people' the same way in that they will just tell you what they want. I'm glad this finally happened because I've overtly been wanting to shoot them in the fucking face for 10+ years now.

- MSM is all narrative bullshit. Hell, I even ignore FOX. If anything on the TV, radio, internet or paper comes from a 'news source' I don't believe it at all. They could tell me its sunny outside and my first reaction would be to go and see if the sun was even up. Ignore them and believe nothing - you'll be right more often than not.

Would some fucker at least report the whole thing that they were invited back to show the US how it’s done once they solved the problems in their perceived shithole?!? Even McConnel was pandering to them today dodging the question of whether he thinks Trump is racist by not defending the whole message.

Reporting only part of the story, that’s good journalism for ya...and both sides can suck a bag o’ dicks.
