I just replaced /swapped out my Aimpoint Optic for a NIB Trijicon ACOG 4X32.
I mounted it on my Colt AR15 (model 6420) directly on the carry handle. I haven’t had time to go to the range to properly zero it in yet.
My question is ..... usually , how close are Trijicons
to being near “ close” to zero out of the box , say out to 25 to 100 yd target ? I know nothing replaces range time with my choice of ammo , was just wondering .
    thanks in advance !

The scope will generally come set in the middle of it's adjustment range. The optic mount, barrel straightness, receiver machining, ammo ballistics, etc... All affect how far off your initial shots are. The optic itself has almost nothing to do with it.

Most scopes are set to a mechanical zero in Windage out of the box. Elevation depends on the manufacturer.

What you’re hoping for won’t happen. Like the previous poster said, it has nothing to do with your scope. It has everything to do with half dozen other variables.

    Thanks Dave !
I was lucky with the Aimpoints factory settings .
Very little adjusting needed to zero.
I was driving home after mounting the Trijicon and I spotted a coyote approx 75 yds. away. Used the open sights and got her where I aimed. I wanted a clean kill , didn't want to maim her.

If you are running open sights that are already well adjusted just adjust the acog to the point of aim of the sights and you'll be almost dead on first shot.

First off you mounted to the carry handle like it's 1992... So your def going to need to zero it because of where it's sitting

Secondly acogs are designed to be used with a specific bullet going a specific mv for the stadia to be true depending on your reticle and need to be zerod at the correct distance using the correct part of the reticle
