Howdy shooters, been a "lurker" as y'all say for the last couple years since getting into long range as a way to relax after a morning of skeet/sporting clays. I'm glad to be a member now with enough knowledge to not sound like a moron when posting/commenting here lol.

After shooting long range at Ben Avery and the McMillan testing range in Arizona, I put myself in the market for a new stock, but then I went off to college and funds quickly disappeared. Finally got a budget for a Manners non adjustable T2/T4/T5 but my question is, how good of a cheek weld is there on these non-adjustable stocks when running a 50mm obj scope? Using either my leupold or a Bushnell and don't want a chin weld.

What height rings are you guys using and what do you think of the cheek weld?

Thanks! And Gig Em!

The cheek weld on the non-adjustable stocks are great...they are the same as the adjustable (at the lowest setting ;)).

Depending on the height of your rings and how you get your sight picture, you'll be comfortable. If needed, a stock pack may give you the extra height needed. I'm using about a 1/4" of adjustment on mine with Badger Ordnance standard rings. There's no clearance for BC covers...but the bell does not touch the barrel (M40/M24 contour).

Using my Badger medium rings my cheek piece sat about 3/8" up......check Badger's website for actual ring height.

Non-adjustable Manners stocks will save you 2.5lbs and some cash, but, if you're not counting the pounds, the adjustable cheek piece is worth it IMO.

Thanks for the reply thrusty, this is build is on my college budget so I would most likely use my adjustable Bradley cheek rest if I have to. Sounds like the non-adjustable stocks are just the ticket if the cheek weld is great with a 50mm obj, I'll be deciding on a model this week.

Weight really isn't a concern, this rifle has a 24" #6 contour and wears a pretty hefty scope on top as is, just looking for a more comfortable stock.
