I got four OSS cans and wondering if anyone here uses ultrasonic cleaning on them.

I know that the manufacturer recommends soaking them in CLP for 24-48 hours.

However I’m wondering about ultrasonic cleaning as it’s good for everything else. I’ve also watched the videos and read the articles on the subject.

What I’m worried about is the aluminum part of the suppressor (pictured) below. Has anyone ever had problems with ultrasonic cleaning eating away at the aluminum; especially with the purple cleaner?

Well I got around to doing something that I should have done in the first place. That is to put a magnet to it.

The exhaust end of that suppressor definitely attracts a magnet. So it's not aluminum. The outer sleeve does not attract a magnet but doesn't get dirty anyway.

The unit is user serviceable so the sleeve can stay out of the tank.

So it looks like I need to go buy some of the purple stuff and put the cans in the US cleaner.
