Quick Shot Challenge: What’s the dumbest shooting myth you’ve heard?

Bullets stabilize after 100 yards, so groups at 300 will be tighter than 100
This and the 50 BMG kill radius are both the dumbest, from an abject stupidity perspective.

The one that got us christened diapers hide on other forums, “pick a speed, use quality components, and drive on” should win this contest though, ‘cause that came from here as much as anyplace else. We should reward our own retards first.

“My .338 win mag will drive lengthways through a 600 pound black bear but it’ll explode if it hits a leaf on the way.”

A guy I bought a dog off years ago actually said that shit , while telling me the bear he had mounted in the garage was well over 600 pounds ; while it was smaller than my first bear that weighed 380.

By whipping the gun quickly left to right you can curve the flight path of the bullet. It apparently works right to left as well for a bank shot the other way.

Might work on the Moon where the bullet would be traveling for quite a long ways due to ultralow grav. The tiny bit of left-right/vice versa impetus imparted onto the bullet that would be unnoticeable on Earth at regular distances would become apparent on the Moon after the projectile has traveled a couple of miles or so.

When we start landing on and exploring our own star system's vast assortment of satellites, the amount of physics based fun and experiments that would be carried out would be staggering...

No, that's not a new gun, honey. I've had that one for quite a while now.

1911's are impossible to conceal.

Probably one of the most far fetched ones I've ever heard was when I was at a gun show checking out the flashlight vendors merch, and he tells me that CREE LED's are made on the International Space Station.
