Suppressors Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

a big one ! generaly the bigger the suppressor the quieter they are. I think the AAC Cyclone ranks very high and I
ve read that SAS suppressors are as good maybe better. SRT's Shadow XL is very quiet but kinda heavy , OPS inc makes a some good ones as well/

how big of a suppressor are you willing to deal with? I have one that 10" long 1.75" in diameter thats the "quietest" I've heard on a 308. It even make sa 300 RUM ear safe !! only cost me about $300 to build

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

I really like my Cyclone! It is not as large as the 300SD and is about 22oz.I would like to hear a Shark and the Sandstorm. Both are Ti and very light.

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

I've heard the cyclone, can it was impressive to say the least. I think that is the one I'll be going with, but of course then they have to start throwing out all these Ti cans to make me drool over.

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

They are all pretty quiet db wise, but it's the tone/frequency that the cans makes that the difference.

Dag1055 and I went w/ the Cyclone-K's b/c it was only a few ounces heavier than the some of the Ti cans and couldn't beat the price for dealer cost.

Haven't had a chance to compare it to other cans yet but plan on doing so at the TV match coming up.

Is the can for .308 use only?

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

Of the few .30 cal suppressors I have heard (about 10), the Ops Inc. 3rd was the quietest followed by the 12th. and then the AAC SCAR-H. These are the three that I could hear the difference, while the others I have heard sound pretty much the same to me.

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

Most of the major manufacturers will be close to one another. I could barely tell the difference. Price and size not a concern, Quicksilver. Weight, size, price and decent sound reduction, and versatility, I picked AAC 762SD. But I would have to say, that the Ops Inc cans are awesome for being a old technology.

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

It's not the end all be all of test. There are a lot of 30 cal cans that they left out.

Re: Quietest Can For a Bolt Gun?

Yep, not only that, but instead of reading an un-vetted "report" from another on-line "whoever," how 'bout standing on the firing line while a lot of different suppressed sticks are being fired ... hmmm?
