R700 Entry Triggers

Just recently have been getting into some benchrest shooting and am wanting to get an after market trigger on my r700. It has the xmark pro which is very meh. Really not wanting to spend $250 on a trigger. 150ish is around what I’m willing to spend. What do you guys suggest. I’ve heard good things about timney and rifle basix. Jewels seem to be very good but have quite the price tag. Lemme know what you guys would suggest! Thanks!

Save up just a bit more than your $150 for a Timney Calvin Elite or HIT. I've used both and have been very happy with them, currently running a HIT.

For the $150 price the riflebasix is a good choice because you can get the pull down to 4oz and TT and Timney will cost you about $250 to get the pull in the oz range. You’ll need to order the riflebasix trigger with the bolt release kit unless you have one.

Not for benchrest it isn’t.

I hate to say it but jewel might be your best bet per dollar. Swap those springs to get it low for the bench nd you’ll beat the shit out of most others under 200.

I totally missed that part, definitely not a solid choose for benchrest.

Can't go wrong with a TT, next maybe a Jewel or Timney

I listed a Jewell for 150 here last week. Just back from them. It was cleaned lubed and re set to factory specifications. Still up in the PX.

Ended up paying a little more than I wanted for a timney hit trigger. Goes down to 8oz. Thanks guys

I just found a Timney benchrest trigger in a drawer the other day. It was installed on a rifle for a photo shoot for field and stream magazine and taken off. It’s been sitting in a drawer ever since, I completely forgot about it. Model 510, no safety. Website says adjustable down to 4 oz. let me know if you’re interested.
