RCBS RC Supreme or Redding T-7 press

Hey guys I have a Rock Chunker Supreme on the way and now I think I may have changed my mind. I think I would rather have the redding T-7. I will load mainly .223 and .308 with the occasional 30-06 and 44mag cartridges. I like the ability with the T-7 to set up my 308 and 223 dies perfectly on the 7 place turret and not have to reinsert every time.

Am I making to big a deal of this or should I go ahead and order the T7 and sell the rock chucker when it gets here?

Please help!

My T-7 is the best reloading tool I own. Beautiful press and will survive nuclear blast. On my one turret, I have resizing and seater dies for 3 cartridges (for a total of six stations), plus one open station for whatever else I might need. None of the six stations ever move, instead I just turn the wheel to were it needs to go. Very nice.

I have both, plus a co-ax, they are both quality machinery,
load concentric ammo, it would come down to whether $140.00 more for convenience is worth it.
When I ran my T-7, I had 4 turret heads, never unscrewed a die, it was handy.

On the second press in the picture. I see that is it is on a priming station... how does it look when you are actually running a case through a die? where do you put the shell holder I guess is what I am asking? or do you take the priming arm off and screw the shell plate into the arm?

OK, then I need some opinions...... If you were in my shoes you would have a rcbs RC supreme coming in and a Uniflow powder measure that you donot need if you were to by a Redding T7. The T-7 is 281 from midway. Would you sell the RC supreme and powder measure to offset the T-7? I think dollar wise it would be close wouldn't it? Will the T-7 load just as accurate as the RC supreme being as I spent a small fortune on Redding Comp dies.

I want accuracy overall but if I can be just as accuarate but save time (get more rounds built) then I think it would be worth it if those two items will recoup most of the cost.

Honestly if you are only loading .223 and .308 I would just go on ebay get a rcbs little partner press or JR press to seat your bullets with and use what you have on order. You can pick a partner up for $50 (I just saw two on there.. Partner Press on Ebay )

That is the setup I use on my bench is a Supreme and a partner side by side. That way while my brass is thumbling the lube off I can be setting my seating die in the partner press and leave the supreme set up with my sizer die... Where turret presses shine is reloading pistol rounds. Or doing like the press above and mounting a case activated powder measure in one of the positions to automatically drop powder. But since you are going for accuracy what you got coming will work fine.

Yes the uniflo to pour a low charge, put it on the scale, trickle up, then pour in the case.

You have room for 2 presses? I like having 2 set up, just in case, for what I'm not sure though.

I have my presses on a 24" piece of 2x6 that I c-clamp to my reloading bench. I did this so when I want to clean my rifles I can unclamp them and set them under the bench..

Here is my bench without the presses.

You can see one of the clamps laying in the floor on the left side of the bench. My Bench is 5' wide roughly and I still have plenty of room for my scale etc to sit beside the presses..

I started on a Rock Chucker. The T7 was next and I love it for accuracy ammo. I hate messing with my dies once they are set up. I have .308 and .338 at the ready and it's just a quick spin of the handle. I really can't see myself ever going back to a straight single stage. You will get used to whatever you get but I would rather get used to a turret.

I run rifle ammo on a T-7, pistol on a Lee Loadmaster (it makes decent ammo but I still want a Dillon for some reason), and have an RCBS Rock Chucker on my bench with a collet puller in it. I also use it to work up small batches, for example .222 Remington.

I started out with the RCBS and got tired of loading pistol ammo one step at a time. The T-7 was my last press. Some where along the way I got a Redding Big Boss that I have mounted on a portable bench.

I have a Redding T-7, A Forster Coax, and two Dillons. Each tool has it's place. My journey is complete.

Please allow me to share 30 years of reloading experience with you. Tried a lot of things that did not work like the Ginzu knives on the TV commercials.

The T-7 works. Very little run out and the primer capture system is A+. Buy one and never look back. In my wonderful wife's words...it is the cat's pajamas.

Dillon 550 for .45, 9mm. .223
Dillon Square deal for .38 Special never change calibers or anything.Local indoor range are whores. Sign says brass on the floor belongs to the store..so I only shoot revolvers in there.

Forster Coax Feeds the .308 bolt guns and resizes .223 prior to the running in through the dillon.

T7-takes all the cool dies that are too tall for the Coax. Neck sizing die, collet bullet pulling dies, dies for checking the amount of shoulder bump with dial indicator, etc. .243, 7mm-08.
