Red Flag Gun Control Law Signed Into Law....

With our new House and Senate and Gov. here in Colorado, ALL Dem controlled, we are now seeing just what those Libtards can come up with and it ain't good. They are moving as fast as they can to push their Front Range, Liberal, Progressive Agenda down our throats as to Common Sense Gun Control, Red Flag Laws and restrictions on the Oil and Gas Industry. All of their buzz words as to anything.

There are quite a few rural counties that are pushing back and declaring their counties to be 2A sanctuary places and the movement is growing rapidly, my county is coming online with that and I know a lot of others are too.

They fail to realize that Agriculture, Ranching and the Oil and Gas Industry are where the money comes from and pay the bills out here.

They want to kill the Goose that lays the Golden Eggs and just live in their Front Range concrete and asphalt Utopia but not give that Goose a say as to when the Eggs come down. It is really sad and depressing. FM

They have something similar here in CA. Nobody seems to care that is violates your rights under the Constitution...I'm sure more liberal states will follow suit and pass similar laws since it is not being challenged.

NY has been confiscating guns for years... up in the North Country, they wait for guys to die (and they were targeting veterans at one point... nice, eh?). And when the gun permit is not in the wife's name, they show up and seize the 'illegal' weapons because the widow doesn't have a gun permit.

Nice, eh?

A lot of guns have come over the Vermont border in recent years to get them out of New York before the hapless families are raided and given the choice "Hand over your late WW2 Hero Father's guns, or we'll charge you."

What a nice place. And that pre-dated Cuomo. He has just turned it up to 11.

Just a thought but if I'm not mistaken the person that makes any anonymous call and red flags someone they are not held responsible for anything that comes of it.

If that is true, ahhhhh what exactly stops me from red flagging someone I know is anti and getting them off the streets and me going about my business? Or better yet, doing this nationwide and not only flooding the system but throwing this back in their faces.

It may come down to the people fighting for freedom having to do this to as many Communists as possible, as well as families of those people that "just follow orders" en masse to finally collapse the law.

This should serve as warning to also be careful what you post on social media. You know the maggots are watching for anything they can use against us. I would also include gun forums in that warning. When better place to gather intel on us "radical" gun owners. I hardly ever post what I'm thinking politically or otherwise. They'll find out soon enough when they take it to the streets. That's when I can make it perfectly clear what's been on my mind.

Under the new law, school officials, family members and police can apply to the courts to get a “temporary extreme risk protection order” against an individual. If initially approved by a judge, the individual would be banned from buying, possessing or attempting to buy firearms for up to six days. During that time, a hearing would have to be held on extending the length of the order up to one year. It permits police to confiscate any weapons possessed by the individual.

Assuming the above direct quote from the article is correct and the law is fairly applied what fault do you have with it?

The term “”Fairly” varies greatly depending on your state and what judge you have. Its all based on someone’s “accusation” and the fact that many states are looking for a reason to take and keep your guns. This just gives them a reason. And once they have your guns, you won’t be getting them back anytime soon.

I get in a fight with my girlfriend. Ex wife, wife etc etc, all she needs to do is make a phone call and make an accusation. At that point, my ability to keep my legallly owned guns rests in the hand of a judge and there’s no telling what kind of judge you may have. And all based on an accusation

It’s just another small step in the direction of guns control / gun bans
Small steps are meant to move in a specific direction slowly so as not to alarm anyone. None the less, you will get to where you want to go, it’ll just take a little longer.

That’s my problem. Baby steps are still steps.....

So if my eight year old is getting picked on in school (he is not) and whips some ass then says "next time you start this shit I'll kill you." Hopefully he would not say something like that but Hollywood conditions us to say something cool after we expend a can of whoop ass so who knows. Suppose the teacher who was oblivious through all the picking on, the pushing and shoving wakes up and hears this remark then calls police to report that my son is a danger to others.....Then police come grab all my guns and optics toss them unprotected in the back of their cruisers, they get to keep them for six days storing them however they feel like and when I get them back who knows what condition they will be in.

This is never going to happen to me because the school my kids go to is what is keeping me in this state. But any ordinary gunowner ought to be able to see that this is going to happen to someone.

If you still do not see the problem then please move to NY and tell your kid to go to school and report that you plan to shoot up the school. If you still don't have a problem then you are a Democrat.

This is probably how to deal with it in fact. Innundate 'em with calls turning in the very fuckwads that live to make our lives miserable. They'll be forced to overturn it, up the ante or shut the fuck up.

I've got a whole list of names and numbers I can start with, with a never ending source. Sorta like swatting, but truly on another level.

At some point this is gonna require action from us, ideally non-violent action but whatever it takes to preserve the Constitution.

Keep in mind if you make an accusation, completely false, and they happen to prove it you just lied in court, to a judge.

The double standard will always apply. If the judge sides with the democrat it's because guns are evil. If you do the same out of spite, they'll throw the book at you and make an example.

You won't be able to use it against them. Like everything else it's a one way street.

That right there is probably plenty... Might as well say what you want to say.

Because the the guy with a MAGA sign in the front yard flying the US flag with a pro 2A flag below it who does a lot of range time, carrying gun cases in and out of a residence weekly, would be deemed a threat by Liberal school officals..

You’re kidding, right? I certainly hope that was sarcasm otherwise you are one of the problems here.
Gradual erosion of rights is still erosion.

I’ll second @Rlandry on the due process comment.
Clearly in violation of the 4th Amendment.
Won’t even mention the 2nd.
Who judges the judges?
What stops this from being a snuff law? It already became one in MD a short while ago.
It’s a very vague law enforceable due to feelings, which is not a legal justification as far as I know. What is the verification process PRIOR to enforcement? Who vets it and how?

Someone else mentioned a pissed off relative, significant other etc. could really fuck you up under this law and I agree.
I’ve been on a rant about red flag since it started. States becoming lemmings with others doesn’t make it right.
This is just another #metoo in a new guise. Same bullshit. Proof is irrelevant, accusations and feelings are key.

When will these idiots in power figure out freedom in itself carries inherent risk. That’s the way it works. You cannot legislate morality or logic. You can’t legislate crazy people into sanity.

Every law erodes freedom in some manner or another. Name one that doesn’t.
