Gentlemen,

One of my competitions is requiring me to find a way to mount ammo to the side of the rifle. I have seen the ammo/cheek rests, but this will not work with my Manners T4-A adjustable cheek riser.

Can you use the Red Tac Gear Ammo Management platform? I understand it is designed for the AI and AICS stocks, but can it work for the Manners stock? Here is my rifle stock:

Does anyone have any other suggestions for ammo placement on a rifle?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!

Use a Red Tac ammo card with Velcro on the back. Use 3M Velcro tape on stock under adjustable cheek.... attach and boom. Works great, have run it for years.

Red Tac is very good. I use it on several rifles. For the open rounds I have found none better. Lots of knock off but none better. For stock pack type I use Triads as it holds a ton, well made and price is great.

Red Tac is the way to go. His products are outstanding and do not wear out. Also if you dont have a two round holder on your rifle you are missing out!

Short Action Precision

Everyone,

Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, the red Tac Gear Ammo card won out. I ordered some industrial grade velcro through Amazon and will simply apply the velcro to the stock and then the Ammo card to the velcro. Simple as heck. I was so happy, I bought my friend a couple of ammo cards also.

Thanks again for all of the help.

The Short Action Precision product has saved my bacon many times.
If a match requires my ammo to be stuck to the side of my rifle I'd be questioning the intent....

That is a good question, and I understand the confusion.

In our local monthly matches here in Reno, NV, we have a "Walking" Varmint silhouette match. That means we shoot at 20 silhouettes standing and 20 silhouettes sitting in 5 shot strings. The course of fire requires single shot loading. I decided not to argue and make a big fuss (for now) over this rule and so I need to be able to hold 5 rounds on my rifle for quick reloading, instead of having the rounds on the ground, in my pocket, on my belt, or on a pedestal.

I also see value in having more than two when I am in other local matches, such as the Upper Nisqually Match in Washington State. There, I might not want to do a magazine reload for 12-13 shots, and then have a couple of back up rounds just in case. Shooting a 12 round string is faster when I use a 10 round magazine and then just hand load 2 rounds as opposed to a magazine change for just two rounds.

But the Short Action Precision two round holder is very nice and I can see that it is beneficial as well. I am not saying that the SAC holder is bad in any way.

I get it now.
Red Tac cards would be a great option. Stu has been making great stuff for a long time now.

Personally, in a situation described I'd run a TAB SAC at 2:00-4:00 on my belt.

Gentlemen, so here is the Red Tac Ammo Card with an industrial strength piece of velcro attached to my stock:

Thank you to all for your suggestions and assistance. This system works perfectly and will suit my needs well. Lovin the Hide right now.
