I'm getting ready to send my M1-A off to have Krieger put on a stainless tube. Before I send it out I want to have the metal refinished so it looks right. I want to know any recomentdations you guys may have as to shops that have done your metal finishing work. I leaning toward good 'ol parkerizing but finish recomendations are also welcome.
Thanks

The base park coat give the surface some "tooth" for the moly resin to grab onto. I use Gunekote (Brownells) and Moly resin depending on what color I want.

It a very good finish and quite durable. Very thin coating so you can airbrush it on easily. Parking is great but the park surface retains oil for rust protection. Moly resin or many other coating over the top of it or on bare bead blasted steel offer a lot better protection and look great. Using an air brush a shot glass size of material will do your entire rifle. I made a curing / baking over from an old high school locker for re-finishing,hanging parts.

I think my wife was going to beat be with a rolling pin if I put anything else in the kitchen over.

Cant Park Stainless. There are other chemical blackening option or a spray on caoting as mentioned above.

I have been doing Parking for about 5 years now and I would do the receiver, op rod and other parts in Park solution and the gas cylinger ( also stainless ) and barrel in brownells "Park" color. Just my 02 cents worth.
