Reloading for use with a Suppressor?

Re: Reloading for use with a Suppressor?

Shouldn't have to adjust your loads at all. If the supressor causes POI shift it should be consistent and then you readjust your scope. Also, before doing anything, shoot YOUR supressor. I have 2 from the same manufacturer in the same caliber (heck only 1 SN apart) and one cause a 1" down and 1" left shift and the other one doesn't cause any shift at all in the POI.
So you might get lucky and have one that doesn't effect your POI at all.

if you want to be super ninja you have to load to be sub-sonic so you not have s-boom lol

only thing i know is can will take a little adjust in the scope because of loss of MZ VLOS but other than that go with it. i do not have a can waiting on government to give me permission.

Re: Reloading for use with a Suppressor?

My experience has been that suppressors actually increase your muzzle velocity. I got 30 fps with my 300 win mag. I did not change my reloading technique, but if your rifle does not stabilize your bullets, you may get a baffle strike

Re: Reloading for use with a Suppressor?

I have found a great load for my 260, single digit SD\ES bug holer, but with my can on my groups open up because I'm on the ragged edge of the accuracy node, the same can(Shark) on my 308 has no effect what so ever.

Sounds like you might want to drop down .1-.3gr on your load to be closer to the middle of your node.
