Hullo folks. This is a Remington '03A3 I picked up a couple years ago, figured it might make a fun project gun or just a shootable .30-06 or what-have-you, nothing particularly special. The rear receiver bridge seems to have been removed with a scope mount soldered/welded in its place; the barrel mount is on a ring around the barrel and soldered in place as well. That funny little thing on the muzzle is a sleeve someone pinned-and-welded over the USGI barrel, I'm assuming to act as a sorta barrel weight.
Now, at the moment I'm thinking that I'll clean it up some, refinish it all pretty and maybe have it rechambered/rebored for .35 Whelen, and let my cousin's husband use it as his primary on a special hunting trip for their anniversary in a few years' time.
But in the meantime, I'll let y'all have a little fun with it. It's your canvas, so to speak. You can do anything you'd like to it, so long as it keeps to a pre-1945 "vintage" feel. What would y'all do?
