I bought one of these during the tax day sale and am so far very impressed with it overall.

I tried to reset the knobs to my 100 yard zero the other day.
After removing the knob retention screw and trying to pull the knob off the shaft with as much force as I was comfortable applying, neither knob would budge.
It appears the knobs are splined to the erector shafts so I can't see any other way they could be adjusted.
As I understand it there is no manual for SWFA scopes, so I'm hoping someone here has experience with this.

Thank in advance.

You are correct - remove the silver screw located on the top (center) of each cap. You should be able to then just pull the cap straight off, set to your zero, replace cap and screw.I'm just assuming here, but the SS 1-6 also comes with turret cover caps, which just screw off first to get to your turrets. This would be fairly obvious as they are just black caps with no markings......... If these are off and out of the way, you were correct in your thinking. If you have the screws taken completely out, the caps should pull off with a little effort.I would give SWFA a phone call on Monday and speak with someone. They will either walk you through it and you'll be good to go, or you might have to send it in and get a new replacement. Either way, SWFA will take care of you.Wish you luck.

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt that I removed the turret covers before I tried to remove the knobs.

I just tried again, removed the screw then pulled as hard as I could on the knob, and the windage knob didn't budge.

Being as I'll run it with the turrets capped it's not a huge deal, but I'd still like to get the knobs zeroed.

SWFA has great customer service. Had an issue they took care of it right away and sent the replacement scope out 2nd day air mail.

SWFA called me yesterday (surprised the hell out of me, I was expecting an email).
Skylar was surprised that I was having this issue and of course offered to make it right if I sent it in.

I gave it another try and finally pulled the elevation knob off. The fit between the turret shaft and knob is a light press fit, but with a little grease and a few installations/removals, the fit loosened up enough to make it "field serviceable".

I got the windage knob to move a little with just my fingers but not enough to remove entirely.
Using a screwdriver wrapped with a business card (to protect the scope and mount finish) I walked (slowly rocked) the knob off the shaft.
A few installation/removals made it easier but still not quite removable by hand.

Most likely a result of tolerance stack up (shaft journal at the top of its tolerance and knob bore at the lower limit) but I doubt it's isolated to my scope, I think SWFA was interested to hear about it.
After 2 decades in machine and tool & die shops I think mine is a qualified opinion.

Doesn't diminish my opinion of the scope at all.
It's a really nice instrument for the normal price and fantastic at the Tax Day special price I got it for.

Rock on SWFA.
