Is there anyway to take the windage knob off so i can set the measurement back to zero? Unlike the EREK knob i don't see any allen screws or anything. There is blunt cupped in polymer covering in the center of the knob. I've searched google can't find anything. If this can't be done should i just center the erector?

The middle is where i expected to be able to reset it. Is that a sort of dust covering i take it? I see that is where the allen key goes. But here's the thing it's blocked or sealed off on mine. Maybe i mistake? I'm just going to have to post pictures when i get home.

Youre joking right?? You have a USO scope and youve never zero'd a scope knob before??

Loosen the allen head screw in the 'top' center of the scope cap, turn the scale to read zero (you should NOT feel any 'clicks' or the screw isnt loosened enough), and re-tighten the screw.

I figured i would get this kind of response. But the answer is yes i have no problem with zeroing the knob. The problem is there is no hole for the allen key to screw in. I clearly see the allen key is supposed to be in the center of the knob and clearly understand how to zero it. But there is no insert where the allen key can go into the allen screw. Your not going to believe me unless i could post some picks which right now i can't. But it's like someone took polymer and melted it over the allen screw so nothing could be used to turn it.

I think it's a dust cover. I'll have to look at it closer when i get home this weekend.

    Re: Resetting USO windage knob

Unless USO has changed things up, the standard dust cover is a screw on cap. It doesnt have anything on the outside of it.

Let us know what you find out.

Will do. I mean maybe it's a covering for the allen screw? I would say that maybe i don't remember it right and am imagining things but i've looked at my windage knob 1000 times. I'm going to take a pic of it when i get home.

I'm at college right now rifle is at home. I wont be able to post it till friday. It has to be a dust covering for the allen screw. Thats the only thing i can think of. I mean i just can't see any other reason why the allen screw would be blocked off like it is.

USO SN-3 3.2-17x44mm EREK knob & U.S. M40 #1 style. I'm trying to find picks of other USO windage knobs to see if they look the same.

Maybe i was using the wrong allen key at the time.. I'll have to look when i get home, it will probably be some simple problem that i've overlooked or something..

Will let everyone know weather it was just a stupid mistake or not when i get home.

Ah, the old "I'm posting from memory so I'm not really sure what the problem is" routine

If its a USO #1 with the M40 scalloping you will be able to loosen the center allen and reset your windage zero.

Haha yeah. I just thought about it the other day, and figured i'd post it but i'm probably overlooking something very very simple that i've made a stupid mistake on now that i really think about it. I'll just have to look.
