I dont know if this has been covered, but here is my take on how to "clean" up the reveal between your barrel and stock

I recently rechambered a gun with a smaller contour barrel and I had a large, uneven gap between the barrel and the stock. I know this is only aesthetic, but I like my guns shooting and looking good.

I simply got some 20 mil tape and put 2 layers lengthwise on the bottom half of the barrel

Next I got some Walmart bondo, mixed it applied generously to my stock channel.

I then put my barreled action in the stock and tightened it down.....30 minutes later and a little cleanup and it is ready for paint.

What you have when you're done is a perfectly free floated barrel with a very even reveal

I thought this would be useful for someone.

Nice job. I usually end up opening channels for larger barrels but this is a good solution for the reverse. I wonder how much rigidity this would add. And, would a JB Weld or Marine Tex make it more rigid? Just thinking aloud in reference to flimsy stocks.
