Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

couple of savages, old pics from my farm truck hide.

the camo is a mk2 FVT that I put in a boyds tact stock in GAP cammo with some mods (long writeup on here a while back with lots of pics), also has egw 20moa rail, warne qd rings, Rifle basix trigger. Had a lot of different glass on this one, from a bushnell 5-15x40 legend, super sniper 10x, millett 4-16x50, mueller apt, and now I'm just shooting the peep sights on it at 100(fun).
The other one is a 17hmr btvs in a flame maple stock with rifle basix trigger. Glass is an old tasco japan 6-18x40.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Here are four of my rimfires. I also have a Model 60, but don't currently have a picture.

All four of these are CZ 452 Americans. They all have Mueller APVs with BKL-257 rings. These pictures were taken before all the stocks were refinished with two coats of Meguiars Scratch-X 2.0 and two coats of Howard Feed-N-Wax.

green mountian 16"
filed and polished the trigger down to a decent 4lb or so.
currently wearing a leapers 3-12

After reading how many of the members here stretch out the range on their rimfires, I have really enjoyed dropping lead on the 100 and 200 yard ranges with this gun. Thanks yall!

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

thanks situation normal! credit where credit is due, much thanks to the rfc crew for advice on the buildup. so far i am well pleased with it.

that is quite a 10/22 of your own! very sharp. the stock and barrel work well together. i trust it shoots as well as it looks.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Here's my work in progress.
Savage MKII FV
Truglo 6-24x44 mildot

This is the original configuration.
SavageMKIIFVTruglo624x44small.jpg

Quickly figured out that I didn't like the FV stock all that much. I made my own adjustable cheek rest but did not take any pics with that installed before I bought a Tacticool. I also enlarged the bolt knob with some Kwiksteel bought at a local mega hardware store for $5. Works much better.

I just recently bedded the action. That was a scary proposition but was actually quite simple.

I'm getting ready to paint it. Hope to have it done in a week or so. I'll post some pics when I'm done.

Love this little tack driver.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

What stock is that Charlie?

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Here's mine. Izhmash Biathlon Basic. It'll shoot MOA at 100 yards with the good stuff. I run Aguila subs in it most of the time. Superb rifle. Very fast bolt. Excellent in the woods. Scope is a Vortex Viper 2-7x32 BDC. The can is a Liberty Suppressors monocore rework. Very quiet.

That's the Boyd's Tacticool. Great stock. Enough weight to begin to approximate a full size rifle without being ridiculous.

I picked up mine second hand but a coworker recently ordered on in direct. His was great also.

What did you do the texturing with?

Charlie

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

PC7. Once it started to set up a little I took a clean gravel about 3 times the size of a pea gravel about the size of a large marble and just randomly rolled it over with the gravel between my palm and the pc7. It gave it a random texture that did not have to be knocked now with sand paper, and it is not hard on your hand.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Scope is adusted all the way up (6x20) weaver grand slam. Still shooting 1 inch low at 25 yds. I guess I will have to go with a 15, or 20 moa.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Here is a couple pics of my savage mark 2. I made the stock myself... I took the original, used wood for the contours and wrapped it 3 times with fiberglass. I also filled the barrel channel with fiberglass for weight. I gave it a higher cheek peice, vertical palm swell and palm swell on the forearm.
