Re: Rock River RRA 5.56 barrel break in

Does anybody know where to find the video that "Nobody"(I think)
did about seasoning your rifle, or breaking in your rifle?
It was a few years back..
That one will make you bust a gut.
I searched for it but could not find it.

While this may seem like we are being crass.
There are many guys who have done many test concerning barrel care, like Lowlight (Head Honcho of Snipers hide).
He did a test and posted his findings. He took two new identical Sako TRG 42's 308(I believe)and then treated one to massive cleaning and babying and cleaning after a short amount of rounds and then the other one he just shot and cleaned ever so often.
He said the one he rarely cleaned, shot better and still shoots well last time he posted it.
So to sum it up...... You can waste half your shooting time cleaning and stripping your rifle down and maybe damage your barrel or you can just get out and shoot and just take good care of your rifle.
The choice is yours.
You will find some that swear about how they are able to drive a bullet up a gnats ass at 300 yards and tell you it's because of their cleaning method.........Hats off to them but they probably don't know the exact reason that their rifle is shooting as good as it is and they are too afraid to change anything thinking they might screw up their accuracy.
Just shoot and listen to experienced guys on this site, I do and I have learned much. You will find out who they are by listening and learning..
Have fun and get out and shoot.

Re: Rock River RRA 5.56 barrel break in

Although this may not cover the break in process, and its more of a cleaning, or lack there of.... I have a $3300 custom rifle, sub half moa, and I was specifically told to never clean the barrel, he even went as far as to say, don't put anything down the barrel. Figure that one out. It still hurts my head, but the results dont lie.

Just go shoot. If you drop it in the mud, use discretion. Or, jump off a cliff, thats probably what I would do. HEHE
