The 9mm ar RRA is a blowback design. No gas port issues. You can cut the barrel down as far as you want with out functions issues.
My 9mm sbr will sport a 5 in bbl with a FFL rifle length handguard. then the can will tuck under the handguard.
Probably the easiest of ar chamberings to sbr with out issue in function.

i plan on making it integrally suppressed.

i have a YHM cobra that i am not happy with at all, so instead of having it sit around not getting used, i figure i'd slap it a rifle.

I cut this down from a 16" several years ago, ran with no problems

I use C products on a similar 9mm upper, both with and without a can. I haven't had any troubles with them, even full auto.

And to reiterate, barrel length doesn't affect the 9 like on a gas gun. Don't go much shorter than 4" though.

i am going to go around 10". i plan on permanently attaching my YHM cobra so i don't have to SBR the lower.

my YHM is giving me fits with my sig and on the XDm i had, so instead of not using it, i'll let it live on the new AR-9mm, and pick up an osprey or octane next month so i can play with the new can next year.
