So i had a little mishap w/my S&B 5x25x56. Knocked the illumination knob off. Called S&B in NH. They said send it back. 6-9 weeks to get to Germany and back....maybe. FU%K!!!! Then they said what address do you want your loaner scope sent to. LOANER???? Unbelieveable. They send the same exact scope, that I can use til my other is returned. That my friends is customer service at its finest. The cost of that S&B is well worth it to get this kind of after the sale service.

On a side note, when I went to paint my 5-25x56 I accidentally knocked it off of my reloading table and it landed on the objective. The fall was from waist high, the landing surface was concrete. A minor scuff but ZERO damage.

Nice to hear about the CS if I ever need it.

How did you knock off the knob?

Good luck

Didn't take the extra 2 minutes to remove my rifle from the bench where i was working on a motorcycle starter motor. Starter motor fell over and hit just the illum knob. My luck.

I am glad to hear that. I know Leupy, USO and Premier are great, but wasnt 100% positive what would happen if I ever had a problem with my PMII. Glad they took care of you.

That is the beauty of companies like USO and Leupy etc. By offering superior, no BS CS, they raise the bar for the other players. Same deal with vendors Like Scott and Doug, et al.

Good for everyone involved.

Never asked.

Great to hear! S&B has been a bit slow in the past but its sounds like they have realized that for a super premium price, their customers require super premium customer service. It is these types of programs that take care of customers the way that a customer should be treated.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: S&B Customer Service........HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

I too can confirm S&B's EXCELLENT customer service. I had a Short Dot that had the "drifting" dot problem after about a year mounted my training carbine (a fairly well abused Colt 6921).

A week or so after they received my scope, I got one back...I thought "dang, that was a quick fix" but I noticed that the serial number was different...they sent a "loaner" while mine was getting repaired (in Germany I suppose). When I received my repaired original back, they included a nice little maintenance/lens cleaning kit.

Unfortunately, my Short Dot must have been a lemon from the get go. The dot drifted again and this time after only a few months so I sent it back again....but this time they sent me a brand new one (and another maintenance/lens cleaning kit)! I didn't have to argue with them, "elevate" it to a someone higher up or anything.

While I was very bummed that my Short Dot failed twice, I'm glad that S&B stood behind the product and replaced it the second time around. Hopefully, the dot drift problem is just an anomaly in that particular unit and the new one will hold up!

Re: S&B Customer Service........HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

That is nuts!! They will just give you another 3k scope to use for a bit while they fix yours.... without even a warranty card!!! Absolutely amazing!!

Now I just have to be able to afford one from the beginning!!!!

To compete with Leupold CS and Sightron CS they need to operate like that. If you buy a "broken" Leupold off of eBay, or from a friend, you can send it right in to Leupold and have it fixed, or receive a new scope. I'm no Leupold fan, I have S&B and Premier and USO, but Leupold has a very responsive CS division (they need it).

If your Sightron goes tits up, the dealer is supposed to take yours back and give you a new one on the spot. Then Sightron reimburses the dealer.

I realize they aren't in the same league as S&B, USO and Premier, but they are perfectly serviceable scopes, and people remember when they are treated right as much a when they are treated wrong.
