I have a couple remmys and a surgeon. Both serve their intended purpose well. However, I do like the surgeon more. Think "bank vault solid." Subjective example... Everyone who puts their hands on it comments about how it feels more solid than the remmys, fwiw.

The custom grade actions have subtle quality differences above the Remington actions. That being said, a trued remington action still has more intrinsic accuracy potential than any human being I've ever met.
I have several Remingtons. I want a Templar, the same way I want a Porsche Carrera Turbo. One of these days I'll have both.

Templar actions are really sweet. You won't regret ordering one for your .308 build....

Go with a custom action if its an option. The Templar and Surgeon are both outstanding.

let me clear few things up when I stated remington. I meant
a remington trude action
Versus the templar action and surgeon action for my custom builder like gap or bighorn

You won't regret either one because BOTH are awesome but I chose Surgeon and it's awesome. It is very slick
