Sako TRG-22 stock dent repair

I'm getting ready to send my TRG-22 out for paint, but I have a pretty good dent in the forearm I'd like to repair first. I understand the polyurethane material has some limitations, and 5-minute epoxies are not a good idea. Any suggestions on a material that will bond and be paintable? It is a green stock if it matters...

The dent is roughly 5/16" round and 1/8" deep.

rough it up and Marine Tex or bondo...
