Im in the final stages of completing my Mk12 Mod 0 rifle and Im not sure what scope I should roll with. Im eyeing the Vortex PST 2.5-10x32 or the Leupold TA-30A2 which is close to the same type of optic that came on it. granted im not real concerned about it being exact, I just want a quality scope that will make accurate hits out to 700 yards.

What it will be used for and how much you are willing to spend will help answer this.

Use? Hunting and range use. im willing to spend around a grand, give or take a couple hundred. I would also like to get into medium range shooting (600m), have done it for uncle sam for a while now as an SDM and would like to have a rig of my own. and considering everything I have shot at long to medium range was issued Im not exactly sure what I need.

For purely target shooting I would want something 15-20X on the top end. For a grand you can find used bushnell HDMR scopes with the G2 reticule which would be perfect for your rifle. There's also the sightron SIII line but they are really more of a bench/target scope especially the 6-24 models. Great if you are shooting F class and can't afford a nightforce but probably not the scope you are after.

All around use I don't think you'll beat the nightforce 2.5-10x32. It is lightweight, compact, reliable with a good magnification range.

I had a leupold m3 on mine for a bit. I really like those scopes but I've broken too many leupolds to trust them.

Give a look towards the Burris XTRII in 2-10 or 3-15. The quality is exceptional which puts them into a definite value leader position in the market. I have been very pleased with mine...the resolution and clarity are better than the other ones you are looking at.

I put a Bushnell Elite Tactical 3.5-21x50 G2DMR (GAP reticle) on the wife's .223 and it seems to be a decent scope for $1150. Time will tell but at this point, good glass for the price.
