I just picked up a DPMS SASS (1st gen) and today was its first test drive. I can tell I need some higher rings already, however I am more concerned about a couple FTFs I had today.
The ammo I was using was nothing special. Remy UMC (Wal-Mart) 150 grain FMJ. My rate of fire was slow, and still it failed to get the spent case out of way before the action came forward. This resulted in a traffic jam that I had to clear about 4 times out of 25 rounds.
When I bought the gun I cleaned and lubed it. The cases that ejected cleanly went forward at about a 45 degree angle and landed about 3 to 4 feet from the action. Any ideas about how I can fix this?
