savage 110 ba value-help please

I'm looking at buying a used savage 110 BA and looking former some assistance at assessing the value as I own many guns but have really paid attention to the market for these as I buy mostly AR type rifles and handguns. Anyway, it has an after market rail on the bottom of the forearm and comes with the box, manual, mag, bore sighter and atlas bipod. Now for the issues...it has a pretty good scratch across the top rail as well as one of the bolt holes on the after market rail is marked up. Can get it for $1700. Is this like a smoking deal, average or too much? Looking to buy one of these guns and appreciate any input on whether I should jump on this one or wait for another. Thanks in advance for any input!

That seems a little high to me. The local gun shop has one brand new for $2k out the door. That's with our 9.5% tax here.

I guess it depends on how many rounds it has through it. The atlas bipod has some good value and I dont know what kind of rail it has on it but that also adds a little value. You can get them new for $1800 and with all those accessories it would probably be $2200 to you. So if it has very low round count then it might be worth it, also figure $200 to have it recoated if you cant deal with the scratch.

I would go with a new rifle - the "unknown" factors about the rifle would not sit well with me, especially at that price. It seems like the rifle wasn't taken cared for in a respectable manner.
