Just burning a few brain cells...

This seems like a pretty inexpensive way as a start to a .338LM build.

I like to make my own stocks, was wondering if this barreled action is up the to quality and usual Savage accuracy of their other factory guns?

Am I correctly assuming this is a different animal, that does not use a barrel nut setup and user-changeable barrel?

I am not finding any aftermarket pre-fits in .338 LM.

Just thought it might be a cool project to bolt together another Savage with an aftermarket match barrel in .338 LM....

Mine groups them tight at 100- sometimes they share holes. The action is thicker than a standard long (looks to have same outer dimensions as the target long actions with a different ejection port). The nut looks different, too, but I haven't any reason to muck with anything but the forend just yet.

I don't really care for the chassis of the 110 BA, I want to make something more along the lines of the MCM A-5.

Both the 110 BA and the LRH have a 26", 9 twist barrel.

Anyone know if they are the same barreled actions, with the difference being the stock vs. the chassis?

I see now they also offer it a LE version with the HS precision stock...Hmmm...
